Brogan sighs.

Mind you, Jack does move behind Dagmar as he says this

"Sorry. Oak is a good dog, though."

"He is. I guess" The squire pets. "Gerd brings his sister by now and then. Then he acts like a big puppy and tries to play tail tag and annoy her."

"Well, he might miss her. They're kind of a set."

"WOuldn't it be nice if the Lodge were just big enough for everyone?"

"YEah" Jack says happily

Brogan smiles "YOu might miss having a place to fall back on now and then. But I suppose if it had a like two dozen rooms or something"

"I dunno..."

Jack says "I can visit you if you feel lonely" He offers

"I'm sure you can. Tove likes company, too."

"And I could help Connor Tove Sit" He says

Brogan snerks at that

"What?" She looks at Brogan

"I don't think Mrs. Tove would like to hear it being called 'Tove sitting'" the Squire says

Connor remarks, “I didn’t sit at all. I ran up n down the stairs! Tove sure forgets lots of things. But I’m a good helper.” Closing the door behind him.

"True."

"Hey Connor! You need anything? Pop? Juice?"

His nose twitches a bit, and he suddenly looks concerned. “Who’s leaking? Everyone okay?”

Jack rushes towards COnnor "Connor, there was a monster it was taller than a troll and was all 'sproing sproing' and had teeth and Squire brogan was all "I am a Daireaeeen... we do not run" and had his sword.. and he fought it before it could get past the stables... and Oak was like 'GGGRRRR' and joined into help him.. and the monster was like 'and your big dog too' and then Stormwake was like 'WARHORSE MUTHER FUDGER" and went Samyy Davis Stomper on its ass... and they won, but Brogan was hurt.. and they say I did good at patching him and he's okay now but isn't allowed to leave the couch"

Connor actually takes a step back at being accosted by Jacks energy. “Huh???”

“Brogie? Oak? Both ok?”

"yeah..sorry, it's just it was reallly scary.. I hid, but watched, and they saved the day.. and then later in Dagmar was in and she was like what happened to the horses? and THe Hearth was here and she was like 'I have the poooower.. Hearth Ra' and then He-Chief came in and we went out to get the pieces while Brogan was healed"

As Jack rambles. Brogan gives a thumbs up.

"Everybody is okay now, Connor."

Oak wags

“How did a monster get in? Rover guards the silvers so they can’t sneak ins. Oh! Is Olgar okay?”

He twines his hands nervously. “Did the monster chew him up and spit him out?” Aghast.

"Olgar is okay. Maybe it didn't come by trod?" Jack says

“But that’s where monsters come from.”

“Unless it got dreamt up like when I watch the scary parts in movies when Gerd says not to look.” A guilty look now.

“Was it a scary tree?”

"No" Jack says "It was like a jack in the box, not ME in a box, but the one with the music and the face and the sproing?" Jack explains helpfully

Brogan looks at Dagmar "Would it be rude if I fell asleep now?"

His head tilts to one side. “Why were you in the box? Oh. The monster put you in a box! That’s RUDE.”

Perhaps he’s never seen such a thing!

"No no. I wasn't in a box it had a box for a butt and it's name was jack too, but it was bad jack, like it should have had a goatee" A pause "Okay, I can see why a satyr might have a goatee too but ... uhm.. it was a lady Jack. Sort of. THe face aws UUUGLY"

Chewing on her nails again.

Brown dog is there, under dagmar. As if sensing stress, and he leans against her. He's not a hero, but he barked a lot? Pets?

He scratches his head. “Maybe you can draw it? I have crayons in the box there.”

“Go to bed, Brogie. I’ll make woofles for breakfast. And you won’t even need to clean up.”

"Okay. I'll draw it" Jack says

Brogan falls asleep as the pooka had cast a spell.

or perhaps he just really is exhausted.

“Dagmar? Can you ooomph him to the fire bed? I think he’d wake up if I tried to drag em.”

Well, he's already by the flames really

Connor scootches the cot a little closer.
