Frank smells syrup

He rolls over, snuggling down, and draws Brekke closer to him to drift off again.

The breakfast near their bed waits

Eventually, he stirs and sits up, without disturbing Brekke.

He checks out the breakfast.....?

It's flapjacks!

He carefully slides out of bed and into a robe, taking the tray downstairs with him.

Nope.. not even Brogan's, though it's closest to that.

Sounds in the kitchen.

He goes to check.

"We'll you stop worry?" Squire Brogan, Kerri's assistant and squire , is sighing as a satyr boy 'paces' in circles

"What if they don't like it? " Jack says "What if I did it wrong?"

Then Frank opens the door and Jack looks up and says "Uhm.. did you you like the ... the flap jacks?"

"They look just fine, Jack." He assures in a low rumble. "Will you share them with me?"

"Oh, but it was supposed to be for you and Chief .. I mean, I will , sure but..." He looks to Brogan.

Brogan nods to him, then says "I'll get your coffee, Mountain."

Frank smiles. "The Chieftess is sleeping in a little. We can make fresh for her."

The young sidhe acts as if kitchen work were a regal duty with dignity and purpose. Which is good, because he sees Dame Kerri as a knight triumphant.

Jack beams at doing something for the Chief "SURE..."

Frank sets stuff from the tray to the table.

And Jack helps..though he may need stools to get the right altitude.

Brogan prepares as needed.

"There we go. Join us, Brogan?"

"Oh thank you, Mountain, but I have some pots to scrub. You two enjoy."

"If you are sure." And Frank sits to eat with Jack.

Jack sits and sniffs "I like the maple syrup. It comes from trees, did you know that?"

Frank nods. "We can take you sugaring if you like next winter."

"Sugaring?" Eyes light up

A shaggy nod. "When they tap the trees, nd make syrup."

"That's what it's called? COOL." A Pause "Uhm sugaring doesn't hurt the trees does it? "

"Mmm.... they are still mostly asleep."

"Okay" He says excitment returning "Then I really want to go next winter to tap trees and make syrup"

"Ok, then." Frank chews. "This is very good."

It is, not the best, but Frank is nice enough not to say THAT part but for a boy's work, quite excellent

"THanks. Squire Brogan told me how to do things and I did it. " he says "I figured if I'm going to be named Jack FLap, then I should know how to do flapjacks"

"That is logical." Frank agrees.

The boy drinks in praise like a dying flower drinks up water. "Thanks!"

"Uhm.. you're truck is huge... Iwas told not to touch it without your permission, but it looks neat. Are you allowed passengers?"

"Sure. After we eat, we can go take a look."

"That would be great. Uhm. .do I need a trucker's hat? Is it like a requirement to ride?"

"It is not a requirement, but I have a spare you can have."

"Thanks!" A nod "I'll feel like a real trucker"

Frank nods. "Finish up."

And the boy WOLFS down the last of his flapjacks "DOne!"

Brogan comes out for the plates.

"Thank you, Brogan." Frank stands and is ready to walk out with Jack.

Jack grabs the jacket he was givne and follow "Yes, thansk Brogan, you're awesome!"
