Brogan tries to sit up "A moment, my liege..." And he turns pale as he hurts himself a bit again.

"STAY."

Dagmar gets up and heads for the kitchen.

"Kerri, I got you..."

Kerri looks up from unpacking bags. "Hello, Dagmar. Have you seen Brogan? I've got a lot to put away here."

Jack looks at Brogan "You move again, I'll sit on you and run away from you when you're strong again"

The Squire glares

"Yeah, he's by the fire. I told him to stay."

She grabs some bags. "He's hurt. Something attacked the horses, and he fought it."

"Jack helped patch him up, and Brogan is not moving until he gets looked at proper."

Kerri takes only half a moment to register this before she's on her way into the main hall.

"I'm disobeying my liege, you fuzzy legged twit, I got to go" Brogan is cranky

"You'd rip your wounds open and stuff" Jack is saying

"What happened?" She demands. "Lie down." A brusque order.

Dagmar keeps putting bags away. Somebody has to!

Brogan lays down. Wincing. He's ..got bandages over most of his body, he's pale as a sheet. He's lucky he's not chimerically dead.

And she might realize that were it not for the bandages, the boy would indeed be dead. This was hasty but solid patching

"I'll tell-" jack says "There was a chimerical monster thing on springs like a jack in the box with teeth and it came attacking along and Brogan stopped it from getting in the lodge and fought it with Oak's help and then Stormwake joined in..."

"Who bandaged you?" she asks as she gives him brief inspection, checking for any head wounds that might have been missed before she begins.

"ANNND" Jack says "Brogan was really hurt bad so I bandaged, but he had me used the healing cookie on oak and stormwake.. and he's not holding still..." Unaware he has answered the question just asked he keeps going "And I threatened to ssit on him and make him, but I'm worried he'll take revenge because Daireann... but he's really hurt"

"A...jack-in-the-box chimera?" A frown...this is not a familiar local critter.

Brogan points to Jack as if to say 'what he said', then he goes "Dagmar set the roast on low... for me. I'm sorry I... don't mean to shirk"

Kerri looks at Jack, then nods. To Brogan she says, "I do not think you're shirking, Squire. Now, be quiet and let me...." she closes her eyes to focus.

Dagmar may remember that the face of the now broken chimera looks a lot like a teacher at school

A searching frown, then she opens her eyes and finds an end of the bandage. She unwraps about a foot of it, then rips that into three lengths. She then braids these together while humming, "Pop Goes the Weasel"....repairing what the jack-in-the-box put wrong.

Glamour follows the bunk, and the Hearth's braiding seems to be reflected in the knitting of the wounds . Color returns to the Daireann';s face as blood replenishes, and he coughs clearer stronger.

And his flesh is whole instead of just bound up.

She sighs a bit with relief as he begins to heal. "How is that?"

Footsteps on gravel outside.

"Yes. I can work now" Brogan says, even though he still has bruises in various locations.

"No, you can't. You will lie there and rest, and NOT argue about it."

Frank pushes the door open, pulling off his coat as he comes in.

Kerri turns to look. "Mountain. There was a chimera attack."

The young sidhe sighs and resigns himself almost visibly the very living example of a squire who must ...endure

Dagmar emerges once groceries are put away. "Hey? Just chiming in that the chimera sort of looked like an evil-clown version of Miss Horowitz." A pause, and a frown. "Um."

And as Frank comes in, Oak limps forward , tail wagging.

The dog has a bandage over an ear.

((Sorry, husband interruptus ongoing...))

((The stables are sort of to the side. Not in direct line from parking to front door.))

"Oak....." Frank drops to a knee and checks him. "What happened??"

"Chimera, jack-in-the-box, apparently." She looks to Dagmar. "Evil clown and Miss Horowitz? That means...well, it's a student's who dreamt it up, then, isn't it?"

She chews on a thumbnail. "Yuh-huh..."

The look on her face means she has an idea

Kerri is carefully unwrapping Brogan's no-longer-needed bandages. "Hang on, Oak. I'll help you in a minute."

"Oak fought a monster by my side" Brogan says

"Jack helped to care for both Brogan and Oak, and Stormwake as well."

Frank looks up, taking in the room....

"Kerri, you need anything?"

Brogan is bruised
