and while it does not heal her entirely, the bitter brew takes Dagmar from very very badly hurt to merely scuffed , scarred and bruised

"The squire!" She remembers, and looks around for the young sidhe in green and gold. "Is he okay? He got zapped, bad..."

Siv scuffs the ground "Well, you could have been killed and ... I didn't know you guys were coming near the Sea. I thought you were going to Rowan Oak"

Dagmar sits up, and fumbles at the points of her armor.

"most welcome" the balor says, still in a stoop, his back seems perpetually hunched making him seem a kneeling angel

The Baroness is getting a count of the dead "Four chimerically slain? Any lost forever?"

"No, Baroness" An answer "But dozens wounded"

"Is the kid okay?"

"I nearly died, it was amazing. We brought SO much glory to House Gwydion" Squire Archlyn grins

The Baroness gives the young wilder a look

And the boy is okay...looks like he got a drink too, well, okay he's one giant bruse with lightning burn marks all over him

Siv looks over at the Narwhal and winces "Oh you got a bit dinged too, didn't you, me dear?"

The Narwhal doesn't reply

"High five, kid." She holds up a hand for the squire.

And he does

"Geez, Dagmar, your armor is blackened in places. It kinda looks cool. Do you think it can be, uh, buffed out?"

Already, crews of Nockers and boggans are going chop shop on bits of the frozen sea dragon

"Uh..." Bleary blink. "I'll have to get the gunk off, first."

"SHould save some snake bits for Symon."

"Set up the blood and ichor pumps" "Inserting ... should we also drain orifice?" "Furk yes, imagine the fuel use"

"Ugh, let's get you a shower first."

"Indeed" the Baroness says "And who is your friend with the ship?"

"God yes. I stink."

"Lady Captain Siv Waveborne, me home port is Rivervale" Siv bows by now realizing this is the lady in charge

"Baroness Beyrl, ruler of the Ocean Breeze hold. You two are welcome here as well. We can see to your ships repairs. "

"Sorry for interfering and calling in outside help, Lady, I didn't mean to mess with your Thanes or act like you didn't have it all handled. Lady Capn' Siv is my love, you see, and she'd just about murder me if I didn't call when I saw danger on the water." Bowing to the lovely Selkie noble.

Dagmar wrinkles her nose and touches the gauntlet. The filthy armor disappears - she'll have to deal with it later, but now she just has her clothing.

"I totally would" Siv says "I'm a Fiona, you know how we are" A smile

"Ah yes" The Baroness glances at her own Fiona knight, she glances at Dagmar "Dame Dagmar, I see your disgust with that beast's stench, I do not blame you. Please, all three of you come with me to the hold"

Piper swallows, and takes Siv's hand. A whisper up at her, "You don't think she's mad, do you?"

"I think we best go to the hold... Dagmar's making ick face" Siv whispers back "Okay, why does she stink but you smell of yummy funnel cake?"

It soon turns out obvious this 'suggestion ' is more like an order, and the Rivervalers find themselves brought into the hold to shower , clean up, and change

Dagmar's armor is sent off to the boggans, to the troll's relief. And she takes a very long and very HOT shower.

And that's when she notices it

Her old arm scars are completely gone! In their place, are new marks, Lichtenberg figures

Is the unleashing to blame? The Sea Dragon's breath demanding it's due? Da'an?

She tilts her head, tracing the curling lines with her fingertips - these marks are so different from the straight lines left by her own hand.

Definitely, not just in looks.

That earns a small smile.

She feels weary, mentally spent. But that does make her smile

Yeah, there's brain fuzz in the wake of the battle. But they won, and Piper's dad was decent, and life is good.

The shower patters and purifies, that cold that had numbed her to the bone (It was her magic, but she was at ground zero for it) steamed away.

In the main room, Siv is catching up on everything "You found him?"

Clean-Dagmar flops on her bed. "You should call your Moms."

Piper has finished telling Siv about last night's performance, and showing off the necklance. It's not the same as the locket with pictures of her moms in it, but it IS magical, and mortal things can be replaced, after all.

"Oh! Yeah! And they won't even be grumpy from being woken up by now."

She perches on the end of Dagmar's bed, and gets an impish look. "I might mess with them, a little... " She starts up a video call.

"Well, you've a lot of news." She works the coconut oil into her hair. Again.

Siv makes a mental note to get that locket back from this sluagh one way or another

At least it smells nice - something floral and spicy has been added to it. Jasmine?
