"Look, I told your friend, I don't have money for this.. shelter nonsense"

"It's not nonsense. And I don't want your money. I want your compliance."

"Compliance? you come to MY house and dictate to me? Who do you think you are, gringa?"

"I think I'm about to be your problem. If you need a place to work off your aggression, I can give you that. But you won't hit anyone else outside of that anymore."

He snorts, "I see, my wife met you out shopping and asked for your help?" He sneered "I see I've been too tolerant of her rebellious behavior"

Mitra has come out with the wife in question

"Never met her before. I don't know her name. But I know that men who hit, keep hitting. She's her own person; you're going to respect that." Jess keeps him oriented so he can't see Mitra and his wife.

"Or what?" the man POKES her in the upper sternum

Jess smiles. "I become your problem."

"Don't touch me again."

"Please, senorita, don't anger him" the wife blurts, despite Mitra's attempt to keep things quiet

Jess keeps eye contact with the guy and lets Mitra handle the woman.

The man turns to see his wife, only to find Mitra in between him and her on THAT side.

"Another bitch, at least your'e not a gringa. You women really do stick together, don't you?" He says

Mitra's eyes narrow "Buddy, you come with her I won't give you half the warning my friend has"

"Angela, you go ahead and take care of things. I've got this."

"Sure thing, J." she says

the man turns on Jessica "I told you, STOP " He pokes Jessica again "Intefering. " PokE "in " POKE 'My" POKE "BUSINESS"

Jessica hits him, closed fist, to drop him on his ass in the dirt.

If she had wanted to, she might have broken his jaw. He is LUCKY she applies enough force to instead drop him on his butt HARD

She looks down at him, and lifts an eyebrow. "Told you not to touch me again. Told you I was going to be your problem. Believe me now?"

"I'll calll the police" he says swallowing though

"Please. Here, want me to do it?" She pulls out her phone by touch, never taking her eyes from him.

"You're crazy! ' he says "You'd go to jail"

"Pretty sure I wouldn't."

"You want to call the police?" she shakes her phone in the air as an offer.

"Or you want to handle this between us?"

"I have a gun" he snaps

But it's probably in the house

Jess just shrugs. "I'm sure that makes you very happy. But this isn't about that. This is about you keeping your hands to yourself. Can you do that?"

"Sure sure" he says

His eyes shift left to right

"You're lying." she says, channeling her mother "So I can't trust what you say. So that means I have to be sure you can't hurt anyone else."

Peripherally she looks to see where Mitra is.

Mitra has pulled away with the woman and.. not sure where they are now. Perhaps she talked her into a a shelter?

"Where's my wife?" the man says seeing she's gone "You bitches can't keep her away from me forever"

"Here's what's going to happen." she says, still looking down at him "You -are- going to stop hitting people. If you -need- to hit someone, you're going to hang a flag out of your window here. You're going to be watched, so you'll be contacted soon in that event. And I'll make sure you get a chance to work that impulse out. But if you hit someone, just a little, just one time... I'm coming back for you. And you won't be able to hit anyone else ever again after that. Do you understand?"

(Cha plus Intimidation)

Something in Jessic'as tone, her eyes, enchanted or not, he sees she's not joking "I.. I understand"

Will the fear last? Or even make an impression, hard to say

"I have friends. They don't like you either. Don't look for your wife. Don't hit -anyone- again. If you need help with that, hang a flag out." she summarizes. "I'm leaving now... but we'll be watching."

She turns her back on him and walks away.

But where to? She knows where the shelter likely is. Mitra didn't just make that up

Not just yet; she finds a place she can veil herself and doubles back to see what he's doing.

He's gone back into his house. she can hear him cursing "Where is she? she left me? son of a ... that woman is crazy..." NOT talking aobut his wife with that one "Where's ah ha.. found it"

She sighs and watches, waiting.

And out he comes, with a gun, walking right passt her veiled self
