Siv looks at her like she's daft and says, again in a soft voice "Happy Birthday"

"Can't use tricks or stuff. Fair fight?"

Brekke blinks a time or two. "Oh. Oh, yes." A pause. "Thank you."

"Should I open this now?"

"Oh that's up to you, mom" Siv says

"I think I will." She opens it carefully.

Zane says "No gift of pan, no cantrips... "

It's a homemade CD , the sort even she has stuff that she can play.

"You got to be brave, Adam," Jack Flap declares. "It's hard, I know"

"Ah." Brekke peers at the label. "Siv...did you sing these?"

And Siv blushes "yes"

Adam shoots Jack a look and climbs up on the stump, tests his balance briefly.

Brekke looks impressed. "I look forward to listening to this."

"Well, it's from the heart. And part of the gift is for dad actually."

And Zane says "Brogan, call it out , little guy."

"It's Squire, or Brogan, not 'little guy'" he says a bit huffy then says "Ready... on your mark... and..GO"

"Oh? Then we shall listen together, he and I. And you, if you are still here when we do."

She turns to look at Zane and Adam competing.

The two boys strain, pull...and try to time it

Then Zane takes a chance and lets it slide with a twist and barely stays on himself....

but it totally throws Adam off his game

Brekke nods to Zane, and helps Adam up if necessary.

Adam does, indeed, go flying off the stump and hits the ground with a solid THUD.

He lays there stunned a moment.

Some folks laugh, but more just wince, and a few, like the Chief, move forward to help

He wheezes for breath a moment, having had it knocked out of him.

"Dude, you okay?" Zane says

When he can breathe, laying on his back, he breaks up laughing.

Zane looks relieved "Scared the shit out of me man" He does laugh now

Brekke does help him up. "You will try again?"

"I can have another go?"

"oh sure fine by me," Zane says

"Absolutely," Brekke encourages.

Zane gets back up "Okay... I think we got this figured out"

"Yeah, sure.... Ooof...." He is set down and stretches to work some kinks out, then climbs back up. "Ok!"

"And Begin" Brogan says

And they do... this time, Adam has it figured out it seems. And Zane tries to lean his hooves in but...

a stumble, and step, and the satyr falls off, though not on his ass "Oh man."

Brekke applauds.

"We need a tie-breaker."

Adam has a cocky smile. "One more time, Dude?"

"Sure... winner has to buy fetch the other's drink?" A grin

"Sure... but not tequila."

"This time."

"Yeah... " he agrees with that

Brenda blinks, "Tequila?"

"This time?" An eyebrow from the Chieftain.

"Call it, Brogan" Zane says before questions can be repeated

"Begin," Broken says

And this one is a real nail biter...swaying, back and forth, move and countermove
