And when Brogan gives the signal, they each try to unbalance the other.

The results are spectacular... poor Anne Marie completely loses balance just as Brekke Tugs and she does the most amazing air swoosh! and lands on her ass

well, more like flat on her back

"I think we've proven I don't have a lick of Norweigan blood in me" Anne Marie says still looking up.

Adam's eyes light up as he hears "Piper" and he looks around for her. "Thanks, Lydia....."

And he makes a face at Lily.

"Are you well?" Brekke steps off the log and goes to help her.

Hiding a giggle as the mother’s compete.

"It's quite all right." Anne Marie says and takes the hand up "Just a bit mussed."

Brekke helps her ups. "Please, let us try again. That was bad luck."

"Looks like you need an Avenger, Anne Marie," A voice says "Be happy to act as your second" Siv comes into view

Brekke turns and looks. "Oh, well, if Anne Marie chooses to decline...?"

"Oh my, I confess, having a champion seems like a can't lose situation. By all means, Siv, be my champion. You certainly can't do worse than I did"

"Don't jinxe me, Mrs. Lee, but thanks" Siv grins

(Pause here, but side events/RP can continue in anywhere if folks burst)

Brekke nods and reclaims her position atop the large log, waits for Siv to take up the position opposite, and then nods for Brogan to give the signal.

Siv smiles "Care to make a wager of it, mother?"

Brekke holds a hand up for Brogan to wait. "A wager? What do you suggest, daughter?"

"If I win, I get to spoil you rotten and make a fuss over you, perhaps even a public one" Siv suggests

Brekke blinks. "Siv...." she sighs. Then she says, "Fine...but if I win, you tend all the ropes on the Kestrel before you return to EarthRunes." A gentle wager...it's a tedious task that she knows Siv is VERY skilled at.

A nose wrinkle, then smirk "Okay. One shot, or two out of three?

Adam, having looked around, sighs and glances over at Zane.

"Two out of three," Brekke agrees. "You are ready?" She takes the challenge seriously...Siv is far more agile than she is.

She nods.

And, grows serious too. Her mother is no klutz.

And Brogan says "Begin!"

Youth and skill are grand, and Siv is agile, but over eager... where as Brekke?

Her first moves are quick, but then she puts a steady, unwavering pressure on the rope....waiting....

And at the moment that Siv tugs back, she releases the rope's tension.

"Blast it" Siv steps off.. as she loses balance "Whew. Well played. Good thing I made it two out of three"

Brogen nods "One, The Chieftain, The Captain? Zero. "

"Mm," Brekke agrees.

She takes her place again and readies, waiting for the signal.

"And, begin" Brogan announces

The 'combat'.... ok, contest.... catches the kinain's eye. He wanders over for lack of any one else to play with....er.... anything better to do.

Zane moves with him catching it

This time Brekke grabs up the rope abruptly, and then continues with a hard TUG.

And Siv sways.. and almost...almost stays on! Much better... longer.. "Argh... " but in the end she loses this one too

"Drat." She takes off her hat, and gives a sweeping bow to her mother

Brekke chuckles. "Good effort," she says to Siv, nodding in response to the bow. "Well, those ropes will be in fine shape, I am sure."

Stepping off the log, she offers the rope out to the next contestants.

"They will," She says and makes room for other contestants.

Zane grins "you want to give it a shot , Adam?"

"Me?" He regards the game. "So you just... it's tug of war? On ... stumps?"

Brekke explains, "It is not all strength. The other person must lose balance."

Siv nods "Aye, what mother says"

A shrug. "That doesn't seem so hard. With an even match up."

Zane takes the rope "Bring it on"

Siv moves to her mother and hands her a small package "Since you don't want a fuss" she says softly

Brekke looks puzzled as she takes the package. "What is this for?"
