Adam shrugs nonchalantly to Zane. "No big. What's the worst they can do?"

Zane raises a brow "Take your phone, Car, and ground your ass? Dude... you got to respect the rents. Even I respect my rents..mostly"

There's a push and Siv comes out from the stables, Jonas with her.

Kerri is not one to miss a cue. While the music was playing, she slipped back inside the Lodge and has now come back outside...carrying what is clearly a birthday cake. A large one. The lit candles on it must be glamoured not to blow out in the spring breeze. She approaches the Chieftain with an apologetic look while beginning to sing the "Happy Birthday" song.

"Ah, glad you liked" Siv is Blushing furiously and elbows her boyfriend lightly

Another shrug... perhaps less cocky. "Ok, phone and car would suck.... maybe I could plead essential Fae services? As far as grounding....pssfffft."

And Siv joins in singing

Brekke looks over at the approaching cake and winces, but in good humor. "Honestly...." she mutters.

Frank echoes the Hearth's expression but sings along as well.

As Does Vali and the others...

Another shadow appears at the kitchen doorway, lingering.

Kerri sets down the cake with the last words of the song. As the group applauds she whispers to the Chieftain, "It's more for the childlings than for you, and you know it."

and then the childlings come up before her... Lujan and Lauge, the troll twins, taking orders to carry a huge green pillow with tassels of gold...

and on it, a flower and grass crown!

"Yes, Hearth," Brekke sighs ruefully, then grins to the crowd and obediently blows out the candles.

Then she looks in amazement at the crown. "But...the crowns are for you childlings....you made one for me?"

"Today is a day, perhaps, when we can all be childlings." Frank suggests.

"We heard it was your birthday," Jack Flap explains "So.. you get one too. I picked soem of your favorite colors for the flowers"

Lily looks VERY Pleased with her sluagh self

Brekke clears her throat and rises from her seat, then goes down on a knee and bows her head to be "crowned."

The kids look at each ot her, and CONNOR is selected to drape the crown upon her brow.

It might be a bit awkward going over her horns at first, but they work it out. "My thanks, Connor, and all of you." She rises again so all might see the crown.

Lily whispers as loud as she can "We accept you, one of us! Gooble Gobble!"

The others look at her "We told you, Lily. We're not doing that"

Brekke blinks, then nods. "Thank you. I think."

"Philistines" The sluagh sighs at them all

THen curtseys at Brekke

"Thank you all," she adds to the entire group. "Please...have cake."

"Sounds like an order to me" Jack Flap says "Chief Shacklebrekker has spoken"

"She has," Kerri agrees, and she starts passing out plates of cake, the first two to Brekke and Frank.

Frank takes his with a murmur of thanks.

There is cake, and the childlings continue to play until they sugar crash and one by one collapse to be tkaen home.. it's a Good Greening

Adam tries to slink off with Zane, or alone....

Brekke enjoys her cake, and her crown, and the company of good people on her land.

And Adam runs into his dad again, "Son? Time to come home " There's a tone

"Gotta get my car." Adam is -trying- for polite in the face of certain doom.

"I'll ride with you" he nods "your mom will drive the other car home. I wanted to talk to you anyway"

Oh, suck. Adam can't think of a way out of it.... so he leads his dad to the car and off they go.
