"What's the matter, Siv?"

"What's wrong?"

"I was going to say something stupid and possibly hurtful even if I didn't mean to be hurtful then realized what I was going to say and how unfair it would be" Siv says a bit sheepish "so pay it no mind"

A blink. "Uh...if you think we're going to let it go now...."

Gerd coughs "What she said"

"...except maybe I should," she adds, then sighs. "Okay."

A grin as Gerd picks up the coaxing.

Siv says "Just... this is important to me."

"Wait...hurtful to who?"

"Did I miss something?" A frown.

"I was saying I'd be happy to have any of you along but don't... don't make me look bad, which is a bitch thing to say as none of you ever would. I'm sorry the thought even came into my head." Siv explains and apologizes

Jaw-jut.

"See, that's why I didn't say it. " Siv says

"Well, I'll make sure not to embarrass you, Siv."

"I knwo you wouldn't," Siv says to Dagmar (True) "I'm just.. really wanting to make it and I'm not fearless. .yet. SO I worry over stupid stuff"

"Oh, hey...hey, I get it. Dagmar, it's not...I get where she's coming from. I...kinda felt the same way when I first started doing emissary trips."

"You did kind of have a stick up your ass," Gerd agrees with Sylvi

So helpful

"Like...Siv, you're saying it because it's how you feel, not because you're afraid of what we'll do, right?"

A smirk. "Thanks, Gerd."

"Right" Siv says

And a little glare that might make Gerd wonder if she got on another Davidson's bad side.

"Well."

Gerd sighs. Gonna be one of those things

"It's NOT like she expects us to act like my folks act at basketball games." A roll of her eyes.

Siv laughs "Not sure what they'd make of that. Honestly, Earth Runes is ..ah, lively? It's like a Soap Opera, but with sword fights, jousts, and sneaking now and then"

A frown. "But you'll be staying here, right? Once you're a Fiona?"

"I Hope so yes. No reason I can't. I mean, you're a Gwydion but you stay here instead of \at Caer Falken. Da's a Liam and no way is Jude pinching him for Ardent Harbor"

A blink as Dagmar asks the Big Question.

"...Okay."

Sylvi's quiet for a few moments, wiping a counter. "It's funny...I know you talk about how this is home port and everything...but I kind of figure we're not actually going to see you much at all in a couple of years."

"I feel like such a fake some days because of that" Siv says "I want to travel, but I guess I don't do that much do I?"

"Well...you did a lot growing up. And you're still doing school, even if you're not going to school."

Dag scowls at the dishes and shoves up her slightly-sodden sleeves.

"Oh I plan to. Hope to have you folks on the crew from tiem to time" A breath "But in the end , I keep thinking how mom and da feel about Jessica being away"

"Yeah?"

"Yeah" A sigh, then Siv looks at Dagmar "Okay, the scowl? Do I need to apologize more? Because I will if I didn't do it right"

"S'fine."

Sylvi clears her throat. "Don't need to be Gwydion over here...." she says archly.

"It's her right not to say" Gerd reminds "And guys , ship smip.. once I learn a place I can keep us connected no matter where we go"

"Just don't like losing people."

"It's true, you can get to Lake Tappan anytime. Back of your hand, practically."

Siv beams at Dagmar, "that's... actually one of the nicest things... you won't lose me. I'll just be goofing off elsewhere now and then."

Gerd blushes

"Well, I guess you gotta annoy some other folks, sometimes." Harrumph.

A bit of a chuckle at that.

Siv joins in

"How's your mom, Sylvi? I mean, you checked last"

Then a sigh. "I figure...Siv's gonna travel, and I'm ...probably going to do more emissary stuff...but it's not like either of us would abandon the place totally and never visit...." Then a frown and she stops.

"Or...whatever."
