"Not a lie if I stick around" He says

"Hey...Dad? Maybe tomorrow you could barbecue for dinner?"

"Sure. I can do that" He nods

"Maybe. DOn't want your mom left alone too long" He's obsessing.

"We have more people here."

A frown. "Dad...she'll be okay for, like, 20 minutes."

Gerd says "You know... , we gotta obey the Hearth. Right? I mean, she's our boss now. You understand, if she wants something, we oughtta get it done?"

"YUp." HE says "YOU do."

Gerd nods "Just so you understand who's side we're on... " She draws her hands in 'cowboy six gun motions' "BLAM!"

Dagmar snerks.

Sylvi shoot Gerd a sharp look at that.

Olgar blinks, "Wait, did you just flicker flash me?" The big man starts to fade , "Oh you little..." And he's gone

Okay, nope, full out laughter.

"Ohhhh....he's going to make you pay for that, Gerd."

Gerd says "Relax, Sylvi. I dropped him near one of his favorite dinners."

Then a beat "How MUCH am I gonna pay for that?"

Sylvi bites her lip and shrugs. "Depends. But if anything happens to Mom while he's away, you're screwed."

"Not that we're going to let that happen." She hands another dish over to Dagmar.

"SO won't let that happen."

"Besides, ain't she asleep?"

"Sylvi, you were going to check on her anyway. I know you. You're as protective as your dad is.. .as an y troll is. You just accessorize while defending."

"You're not wrong!" Sylvi says with a sing-song tone, and passes the dishrag to Dagmar. "Let me go do that now."

Gerd smirks "Look on his face was funny."

"I hope you still feel that way when he rats you out to Mom. Or the Chieftain or Mountain."

"Oh come on, I was enforcing the Hearth's orders. "

Siv comes in wearing a man's naval outfit, circa Elizabethan age.

Lots of fru fura

"Sorry I'm late,"

A soft grumph as she is now washing AND drying.

"SIV, SWABBIE"

Sylvi slips into the bedroom where her mom is (hopefully) sleeping.

"Okay... sorry, Fiona ball was nuuuts" Siv says

"SOME of us have been risking life and limb" Gerd says

"Oh, we went to a Fiona ball? Not sure if that's a reason not to wash dishes."

"...We saved you some dinner..."

"Life and limb? What risky stuff have you guys been doing?" Siv gets to work

Sylvi finds her mom sleeping hard, the food in her belly helping her rest

She carefully and quietly gathers up the used handkerchiefs for laundering, and makes sure there's a stack of fresh ones by her bedside. She checks that the pitcher of lemon-water is still full enough (it is), and carefully tucks blankets around her mom's shoulders. Weird to be taking care of her....

"And thanks, but I'm stuffed, so many fancy foods at the party" Siv says "They had a Jello mold shaped like a Lion with little banana chunks"

"Yes, Life and limb" A cough from Gerd "I flicker flashed Olgar."

"Dead Wilder Walking" Siv says

"Lions and bananas? Did I miss a connection?"

"Sure Snow would like it..."

She comes back out of the bedroom and shuts the door quietly. "She's out like a light, but in a good way. Breathing okay, not all snortle-ish."

"On the mend?"

"YEah, it was a party for Vince he's.. kind of cute. Lion Pooka."

"Looks like it."

"The one at EarthRunes? I've seen him. Haven't really spoken to him much, but...yeah." Since Siv took over drying, she starts cleaning off counters.

"Haven't seen much of Earth Runes at all, myself."

"I Have to take you sometime, Dagmar. " Siv says, a troubled look, then a frown and a shake of her head, "Yes, be happy to introduce you to folks."
