She keeps her head down.

A few hasty bites, polishing it off.

"We shoudl probably talk" Jaymes says

She stares at her plate, silent.

"You scared me" He says simply

"I didn't mean to ruin your night."

"You scared me because you ran away. And I almost didn't know where you were."

"I was gonna come back."

"I didn't know that"

"You were back down with Tove."

"...."

"Dagmar. It doesn't matter who I'm with or what I'm doing. YOU are my prioirty. Don't you get that?"

"Am I in trouble?"

"What do you think most parents would do and say if their kids ran off like that without telling them where they were going?"

"You gonna send me back?"

"Now why would I punish myself for something you did?"

She shrugs.

"What I'm goign to do is think on this , see if I should ground you, or what. But... I will also want to hear why. why you ran in the first place."

"It's stupid."

"I still want to know"

"But, I'll give you time ' He sigh and rises up "We'll talk when you're more ready to"

Dagmar retreats, heading back to her room.

Jaymes sighs

Later, there is a knock on Dagmar's door

"What?"

"It's Jaymes"

"Figured."

"Open the door, please"

"It's unlocked."

"I'll take that as a come in then" He opens the door, and steps in.

Dag is sitting on the bed, back against the wall, knees drawn up and hugging a pillow to her chest.

He takes a seat on the floor, "Even if it's stupid, tell me why you ran. I need to know."

"I dunno. I made Symon upset. And then I made you mad, too."

"Okay, how did you make Symon upset?"

"Because I reacted wrong? I don't... I acted wrong. I screwed up."

"See, I get the feeling I'm getting parts and pieces. I have no context. this all started with that quilt, which you seemed to like, until you didn't"

"Is that part right?"

"It's a stupid quilt." Miserable.

"Did you like it when you got it. Forget what others say or said"

"Did you like it?"

"It's stupid. For babies."

"Why?"

"Because teenagers don't do superhero rooms."

"And everybody's just laughing, cuz that's what stupid Sam is gonna do, right?"
