She fights! Digging in nails, squirming and kicking!

August climbs, fighting the slickness of his hands and the rope.

And Zara starts to squirm away but a voice says "Damn it, Raven, hold still, I don't have much time to tell you what you need to know" A forked tongue brushes against her ear, but the voice is familiar, the cadence..nautlical?

She stops, listening.

"The giant spider, don't kill it... it's 1122, he's been transformed. I couldn't let you kill your friend. I tried counterweaving the effect, not strong enough. You might be... " Zara feels the press of the young body against her own. This is somewhat.. wait, that's 1122? Suddenly Zara finds focus past the lingering haze of fear of death and that odd afterglow of the cane being broken.

She hisses!

"I'm getting the prisoners out while the fight is going on, when what i want to do is kill that bastard... but they come first" The voice says

"I called da'an upon his head."

ANd August gets up to the ship to see Earl fighting against the iron wielder

August will take just a second to look from side to side for anything to use for a weapon before launching himself towards the fight.

And August sees the impossible. There's a sword. Just..leaning against a rail. Desserted... but the house Liam symbol on it

Zara seeks out the spider-beast with her gaze, and rasp-sings in her whisper.
"I have crossed the horizon to find you
I know your name
They have stolen the heart from inside you
But this does not define you
This is not who you are
You know who you are"

"Good, then I guess he's as good as dead with what you work and what he's earned" And the snake woman lets her go as she works her magic

August takes it up and joins Earl, helping to beat back the (possible) Balor.

.... and Tantalus.

And Zara's magic reaches out, her whisper carrying beyond the voice... and Caspian and Magnus gasp as they see the giant spider shake... confused, dwindling... shrinking... and becoming once more 1122.

Tantalus curses "Take from me everything, I'll take it from you... you're stone, Earl... you're turning to stone..." Tantalus says

August, Liam blade in hand, attacks Tantalus.

Tantalus sees August too late as the sword cuts into him and he bleeds "Son of ..." His ring flares

To others, it seems like August has dropped like a puppet without a handler... folded.. writhing a bit.

That is not the worst of it...

Earl's eyes widen as he feels.. no, BELIEVES he is a statue. The iron blade going into his belly proves otherwise.... for it goes through him as if hewere just meat. He's freed from the spell... but the Balor draws the blade back out with a TWIST... a snap.. a piece of the black metal inside him

The redcap says "Waht the fuck .." As something bites her, a vrery ANGRY 1122

Zara weaves and slithers through the battleground, towards the fighting.

"You see this, witch? " Tantalus laughs "You've got my fate, but I have the two men you care for...dead to rights.. say good bye to the troll's soul I suppose."

The balor sidhe sneers "Yes, Tantalus, it's all you"

Caspian calls out "By Sinbad's blood!"

and the waves burst out

"Nay, you have your fate. Everything you've earned."

"A gift from me."

"You're not the only fate worker... I"ll pay another to undo it..." Tantalus says...only to have the water from the primal use throw the Balor over the railing... the cold iron knife clattering where he stood

And, maybe it's the iron will of August Truthbranch, maybe it's just Coradel doesn't look RIGHT with Jude's facial hair....

but August snaps out of the ring spell

With a snarl of Sidhe rage, he stabs again, aiming to yes, really, KILL the satyr.

Tantalus turns and a sword pierces clean through him. The Chimerical steel rings as it cuts at the seeming of the Satyr... the satyr backs free gasping.. his hoof hitting the cold iron and turning into a foot... "No I... " And he falls back over the rails

August staggers to the rail and looks down......

Zara looks for a way up to the boat, and Earl...

for a moment it seems as if he will have one of those deaths where you can't be sure he IS dead. one of those moments where someone says 'no one woujld have survived that' but he lands on a lower part of the scow amid a dozen women who were being smuggled out... seeing him, all his spells of beguilment are undone. And there is a howl , a shriek... as the women turn the only weapons they have, their bare hands, on the man who had tormented and twisted them... nails are used like claws, hands grip and tear....

and one might be reminded of the maeneds of legend, though these are daughters of eve by nature, tonight it seems they belong rather to Dionysius or even Artemis!

August watches a moment, nods, and turns to help Earl.....

Earl flickers in and out "Zara... she's okay?" blood flecks fly from his lips..

And then a swift flies in, and lands confused looking "Siv? Siv?" As it changes from Bird to troll "I know it sounds stupid, but I was told you'd need a magnet" And he holds up one those industrial magnets that can make an antanie stick to a car

"Oh God...." prayerfully as he dashes over and checks Earl, his First Aid skills not quite up to cold iron, nor is his Sidhe nature (even as a Liam).

"She is. She will be. You'll see to it." August promises Earl.

He looks up at the troll arriving, blade still in hand and ready to defend Earl. "Who are you?"

Zara finds a gangplank, and RUNS along the deck towards Earl and August.

And, it seems, Jonas.

Zara sees the magnet, she sees Jonas holding it, her keen eyes spot the open gut of her love, and the iron bits inside digging deeper, and deeper into it with every move as he fades

"Jonas" The troll says "I'm looking for Siv, A beaumayn told me to bring a magnet to save her.."
