Zara smiles. "My clever friend, aye."

"So - we are close to where they gather, methinks."

Earl says "And yet this pier seems quiet?"

They hear no noise as they move and whisper. not yet anyway

Zara checks in with Octa, for an update. Bronte is home, but 1122 and a handful of the Sisters are with her.

Poor Bronte would be very tense if she were here. No books. High risks. She's a creature who likes her lairs , dear Bronte and sees the world mostly as a place where one can find book stores and libraries and studies.

While the spiders are a more pragmatic bunch. Octa, of course, has been attached to Siv for a few weeks.

The spiders switching in and out have served well, though brushes with banality have proven dangerous. Zara gets a report a visual from Octa, VERY DANGEROUS things.. .. girl about to be exposed. Tantalus here.

August stands watchfully, the ocean breeze playing with that annoying flop of hair on his forehead. One hand rests on his sword hilt.

"We must needs hurry. Tantalus... he... he has a plaything."

"Where, Zara? What direction?"

"Ah..." She closes her eyes, communing with her menagerie.

And images as mortal women writhe....

and a snake pooka watches... standing guard...trying to keep up indiference.

The glamour of the cantrip working over those poor women flows out and about... the spiders warn It's so strong. One almost feels the urge to mate with a male and then maybe eat him

"No cannibalism yet, Octa."

"This way, I think..."

August follows, on guard.

And they move deeper into the stone labyrinth, the sounds of nearby waves louder . Magnus touches the walls.. and glamour flows. he gasps

"She.. she picked up some glamour here... she's not sure how she got it... but was grateful." Chronos, an art Zara herselfi s denied

"His victim did?" Clarifying.

"Our friend. Caspian and the bottle, nu?"

"The snake pooka" Magnus says "Yes, Caspian... and a satyr girl? ah yes, the same story.. a moment, more unwinding"

"They left this area a few hours ago.. but are not far, they moved further through this way..." Magnus continues "Towardss the ships"

"We must stop them before the ships depart, aye."

Caspian says "Wait.. no something we're missing.. this way" And he goes off in a side tunnel

"There is no time for a LITTERAL side quest" Magnus says alarmed

"Trust Eshu feet." She follows.

August looks a bit conflicted but nods to Magnus and follows Zara protectively.

Magnus frowns but goes along

An alcove... a passage... and.. Zara hears it first.

She listens... the dark does not bother her, and her ears are sharp. Sluagh are built for such places.

Magnus hears it too "I know that sound"

"Aye?"

squeeking and then...

Three Rodents of unusual size leap to attack!

Zara hisses and flattens against the wall.

Forewarned, somewhat, Earl quick silvers and slashes at the rodent nearest Zara, a blue wall providing her cover

August draws his blade and attacks!

These Rodents aren't just of unsual size, they appear to be half starved, lean and desperate... borderline nervousa eager to rip the glamour from anyone they can

And August discovers they don't run or cower back even as he strikes the ear off one!

Aggressive chimera are not creature he has concerns about harming. No, he will have at them!

And his sword flickers.. adding it's own quick silver effect... this leads to both Earl and August being a set of blurs, striking and lashing at the giant rodents... who snap and slash back

One does Bite Earl, leeching a bit of glamour from him even asi t wounds him.. but it is rewarded with a blade through the gut

August's armor holds back the fangs of another
