But Shuri pulls her finger back at Jessica's comment. She doesn't want to hurt the dots.

Jessica gives her cheek a kiss. "That's good."

"As you can see," Dame Donnelle, "Skyhook hold is still transitioning."

Jessica nods, taking it in.....

"I didn't realize...."

"Apparently the Capataz discovered this had a history with Nasa... and has used that element to build around" Donnelle said, "It's gone from white collar to manufacturing... mostly"

"The Freehold?"

"Yes"

"What about the surrounding area?" (She's checking her own perceptions.)

"Well, obviously, Mama Captaz would have a better feel for that thanks to her link, but a lot of the locals, mortal ones, seem confused but except for a light sneering of classism are rolling with it. Local Kithain are another matter. Many were happy Summerstrike was leaving ,but they fear an unseelie backlash as said unseelie return, at least some of them, and new unseelie come in."

Jessica nods. "Dame, please know that I wish for a balance in this place, and in the, um, County. It may be perceived as a backlash if Unseelie are here and afforded the responsibilities and privileges Seelie have. It -may- be; I hope not. But what I seek here is balance."

"I do not doubt you, Countess, and Mama Captaz seems to be focusing not on retribution or the like, but rather crafting greatness, which I may not understand but certainly see no injustice in. But if I may say, you don't have to explain anything to me, I'm merely a knight in service to the hold answering a superior and informing her. I have no influence on policies here . "

Jessica clears her throat. "I'm fine with being called Jessica. And I think people who are informed and educated make better people."

"I cannot argue with that," Dame Donelle says, "But if you're wanting me to spread word to the people or some such I'll have to run it through my ah..direct liege."

"Of course you will."

"Can I get you a drink? We actually don't have much in the way of housekeeping. Most of the boggans here are crafters and get insulted if you expect such service"

"I'm ok." A small smile. "Maybe we can work out a boggan-swap with those that are willing. Some of Fenix's care takers for some of your crafters to work with Symond."

"Mama Captaz might be fine with that. Much of the staff quit. We may even be a bit short on thanes."

Jessica nods. "I'll talk with her about some personnel trade, then."

She raspberries Shuri.

Shuri is delighted.

A grin.

"You're very good with children," Lady Ash says "Anyone ever tell you that?"

"Um. No?"

"Well, you appear to be," Lady Ash says "I can see why Mama Capataz and the father entrust you with this angel"

"Not sure that's how they'd put it.... but thank you."

"I'm sure that it isn't and I've only know Mama Capataz for few days" Dame Donnelle says, "But their daughter is endearing. And they do spoil her. You should see her play room"

"Should I?" That was an invitation?

"I, well, I suppose I can show you, please, it will at least keep her occupied" The Knight leads the other knight, the Countess, and Shuri on. They head up the stairs and find themselves moving to a side area.... to a LARGE room.

Jessica carries Shuri there.

She opens it up, "That's just part of it... off to the side are all her giant nerf building blocks and lego like pieces... those odd boxes she likes to stack..."

"Wow." Jessica slowly (maybe too slowly) sets Shuri down.

Lady Ash gapes, "is that a slide for a toddler?"

"Yes, but the floor is positively plush..."

Shuri grins and toddles towards some of the boxes

"You go girl." Jessica approve quietly.

"Is there someone we call to... watch?"

"Yup, big window..." She leads them around to a study next to it, small table, some chairs were adults can hang out with talk and drink, OR do work

while able to peek in on 'the kid'

"Are there other toddlers here?"

"As far as I know she has this room to herself"

"Wow. Ok. Setting the bar, there Tweak..... but ok."

"I'm not sure how much of it was concious, and how much was parental wish fufillment" DOnnelle says "Clearly, the father had at least a bit of help shaping things. Ergo the outfits the mortal women wear and don't know about"

Jessica looks.....

Well, no mortals in this part... but she may recall the high boots and pink rabbit fur stole the receptionist wore..

and come to think of it, was there another office worker in red pumps?
