"So it seems." Mitra says

"I can try again if you like, Jessica, but soothsay omens and the like tend to have a weaker retry"

She shakes her head. "Thank you, Father, maybe another time."

A nod "Bless you my girl. Is there anything else I can do for you?

Jessica shakes her head. "It sounded like folks at home are going to sit tight and see what the next move is, play defense. We haven't been targeted yet so.... we'll do much the same. And I have to call Clem. Thanks again, Father."

He bows (Old habits) and withdraws.

Jessica looks at Mitra.

Mitra looks at Jessica

A deep breath. "Ok. I'll go call Clem."

"Well... if you want me to talk you out of it you hope in vain. " She says

The call goes to Clem...

"Clem Debuke, mad as hell, how can I help you?" Answers the voice

(Pause scene, as poor Shady must sleep)

BIC: "By luck or dreaming's kindness or nocker genius we stumbled onto a plot by the big aggro corp to try to poison our water supply"

"WHAT!?!?"

"When and where?"

"Soon, and here, of course," Clem says "They're got a cop they're paying off to slip on and do the dirty deed. He'll be lucky I don't elder form him into a REAL pig and dance him by a bacon emporium. By the time I'm through, I will turn this on them and make them rue the day they ever tried this..."

"I was going to ask to come visit anyway. -When-?"

"They could try it in a week or less for sure and.. oh, when can you visit? Well..anhytime you like but I'd hate for you to get caught up in a risk with banality"

"Not sure but I'll wrap things up here and be on the way. Listen, I was calling because I want to bring you a present.... well, a loaner. If you want. And a Dreamer, if there's time."

"Well you sure know how to open a door don't you?" Clem is calmer now "I rarely say no to either, but you do know it's not required to visit right?"

"I know. But it helps. Troll, duty, Balefire, responsibility, debt, honor....."

"I read the handbook," Clem says "Sure, please, come over do you need help bringing it here or should we just open the gates so to speak?"

"Well, first.... I recall you have Fae steeds, right?"

"We do..proud of em"

"I have a FyreMare. You met her, right?"

"I have..she's more than welcome ! You looking to foal her?"

"Well, I'll talk to her about it."

"Bring her along, if she wants her private stall away from the boys we can make sure she's let be. " A chuckle

"I'll talk to her." Dry "If she wants to come and meet.... well, everyone, then I'll bring her. If she... well, she might need to be there for a year? Assuming she works the same as horses. I'll call in a few days with details, ok? Meantime, don't take on Big Aggro without me, ok?"

"Now Jessica, agreed to all, but you've got enough on your plate. Sides, we've beat them before. I've got them handled, or will thanks to my family behind me. "

"Hey, you agreed to all. See you for the battle." And after disconnecting, she goes to speak with the FyreMare.

Clem hangs up on her end "Mmm... here I am knowing what's best and she's just full of ideas anyway reaedy to charge ahead... I... mmm? Aunt Agnes? Why are you laughing?"
