For Jessica, matters are moving along... a few kithian are being moved, and some kinian as well.

The mortals are being mused, and notes made of those that are dreamers.

The Gang violence remains a problem, all the more because some are using it as an excuse to hold back those in need of help.

There -is- a sense of relief as refugees actually MOVE.

-Something- is happening.

Yes, it's the drip drip drip not a flowing trickle like she hoped, but it's going...

She tries to think of it as the first drops of a flowing trickle, not a drop in the ocean.

It does seem the strained fief almost collectively sighs with relief

Seized by almost a whim, but as much by a real need, Jessica lets her people know where she'll be and heads out on her motorcycle to take a nature hike.

And off she goes... by now, the areas outside of the megacity of TJ are a second haven she knows pretty well

How many times has she enjoyed the wind of the cliffs? The sounds of the sea away from the tourist areas or shipping?

And yes, there are trees to be found if you go far enough

Jessica does enjoy the exhilaration of racing the motorcycle across Tijuana. She pauses on the cliffs to watch the waves roll in and dash against the rocks. Thoughtfully, she licks the salt from her lips and climbs back on board the bike. She heads for the Forest.

Into the forest she goes... it's not necessarily safe, drug cartels and traffickers can work here too... but today at least, it seems no one else is trying anything shady.

Jessica rides into the forest aways. Then she stops and secures the bike and helmet in preparation for her walk. She moves into the trees, enjoying the relative coolness in the green around her.

She has heard that nunehi can draw glamour just from being in natural surroundings. She can't do that, but she can imagine what it's like.

Jessica was raised with an understanding of and appreciation for the restorative powers of nature. It is what she seeks now.

And she has it... here, she sees the glory of nature with all her eyes... rich and restful to moral ears and vision, to fae sight and sound? Oh even more so...

little colorful nevers of summer hues bounce along the tops of the trees giving chase to butterflies of impossible colors.

The duty-bound Wilder watches them play wistfully.

There are worse ways to kill an hour. To unwind. The wind picks up....

But not too much.

It plays with her hair... cheeky

Heck, Jessica wouldn't even mind getting caught in a summer shower out here in the woods. She finds a friendly tree to lean against and closes her eyes breathing deeply.

As if answer to her wish, soft drops begin to plink down, soft, and currently few.

A small smile on her lips. She lets her mind wander....

Refugees are starting to move. That's good.

Nunnehi.... well, can't force them to show themselves or talk peace. Maybe I should be content with extending an occasional olive branch in their direction. They aren't falling over themselves to meet.

I should call Clem.

Ah yes.

The rain comes down heavier, but not too heavy. There's a music to it, the way it alternates between hitting the soil and leaves.

She lets the music come to her. Nope, no good answer on that last one.

"Is this a bad time?" An old voice.

She opens her eyes, on guard instantly but not on attack.

The old voice belongs to an old man, one with a snake mask, his voile that of some lost culture of the time before Columbus.

He is a nunnehi

She straightens slowly, showing she has no weapons with her. "It is not, sir." Respectfully.

"The rain is good," He says "We were wondering when you would leave the city again. We waited."

"I did not realize. I would have come sooner."

"I suspected as much. Pay it no mind. We thought of going to the temple, the pit as you called it... but some of us are not on the red path you know?"

The figure sits, "I am Rainspeaker." He gestures to the shower around them, whether claiming cause or kinship is hard to say.

She nods and sits across from him. "You know I am called Jessica King." She says surely.

"It is good to hear it from you, even though I know." He settles, "You have the axe to bury, I hear. Most impressive. Do you have it with you?"

"I do not. Do you need it to have this conversation?"

"It has a power, where some of my peers here, they would insist on it or something like it," Rainspeaker says, "But, it is just us. I am sorry, not everyone is willing to come. I fear partial peace means partial war and that is not what you or I want."

She nods. "There are those of my people and my place who do not seek peace, either." Jessica confesses.

"War is a comfort to those that find peace strange and new. They are like children that have never heard silence, only thunder"

Jessica nods. "There are too many placed like that in the world now."

"It is the age of the jaguar and he is red of tooth and claw," Rainspeaker looks weary even with the mask on but seems to be content to talk "But even to take wing to tranquil skies, one needs plans. What are yours to help this age end?"

Jessica is respectfully silent a moment. "I'm not sure I understand your question entirely; please forgive me. I would like there to be peace here, at least within the area I am responsible for to my people. I know resources are scarce, but if sharing them would help, I am willing to talk of it. I am willing to acknowledge the rights of your people. I would like to learn more about them, and share that knowledge with my people."

"I am open to suggestions."
