Jessica's mind is racing with much of what she has learned from Rainspeaker.

The Nunnehi of these lands have problems, she had not expected... including fears that their people are being 'bred out' by Western Kithain.. a silly notion, but when pooka and the like are popping up even in indigenious tribes... it can build resentment. Rain Speaker seemed almost embarrassed to admit it.

But she also saw hints into magics she'd never seen before... 'arts' that few non nunehi knew of. Rain Speaker, she realized, was taking a great risk with his own people

Jessica sits with her Balefire to reflect on all this.

The nunnehi are just as thickheaded, hidebound, and stubbornly fearful as any changeling... they're also as good hearted and protective of their own... 'kith' aside..

but peace? It's hard to find out what it would take... surrendering holds? Leaving the lands to them? SOME Nunnehi think nothing less wouold do.

Others are VERY Tempted by her offer of simple equality and respect for their customs

As always, the peace makers are the ones with the headaches, on both sides

And there is a problem...Alejandro

The sidhe boy does not forgive or forget.

And yet he's a ward of the hold... it's possible he might try to poison a Nunnehi from the rep of his House

She shakes her head. Alejandro will have to be away, or under direct orders and sequestered. I don't want to hurt him, but....

But where to send him?

It is Diego who notices her thoughtfulness, "You have a problem?"

She looks up. "No. Not a problem. An... opportunity. Just thinking it through. Is everything ok?"

"Supplies are good... the people are destressing now athat some of the refugees are getting homes but still worried. The gang situation is always ugly. Your countess doesn't seem terribly concerned about it. But the DeBukes have been keeping the staple foods going"

A sigh. "I need to send them a thank you note, maybe attached to a Dreamer...."

He laughs "Well... if you like I can wear my best robe and a bow? "

A faint smile. "Vacation on your own time, Diego." She teases?

"Can't blame a man for trying... " but his smile grows "Truly, if you want me to sort through the dreamers we know of, I think I have a list of three that might do very well there"

Jessica nods. "Yes, please."

"One or two f them have some family that might want to go along, but the DeBukes seem to get that"

"And even welcome it. Prying too deeply into the science of it could kill it, and us, but who knows where the families of Dreamers, or Kinain, could lead?"

"See, there's a romantic in you, my otherwise sensible friend" A smile

She shrugs.

"Oh one other thing we can do for them if you like is offer them some spices and plants that don't grow in their area. "

She nods eagerly. "That's a good idea, Diego. Let's do that. Hm." She thinks. "Do you think the FyreMare would do well there? Or... for, you know, a visit?"

"You love that horse"

"I do."

"Then why give it away? "

"oh wait, a visit?"

"-Her-. And yes, a visit." She clears her throat and looks away.

"Well, if you were visiting WITH Her, they'd be delighted. Good diplomacy on your part too"

"I'll talk with her, and of course I'd accompany her up."

A nod "Makes sense"

"I'll call Clem."

"I'll get to work on that dreamer list" he rises and smiles and leaves her be

"Thank you, Diego." She waves her hand through the Baleflames lightly.

Well. What do -you- think about the Nunnehi? she thinks.

The flames seem to ring about her fingers a bit...almost a huff... this is a place of rest and healing, of renewal... that's the job, and the squabbles seem petty and a distraction. The balefire can't have an opinion (Can it?) but if it did... Jessica would swear it would like folks to just get along and get what needs doing done.

A sigh. "I don't disagree."

"Perhaps I should visit your sister for a balanced view?" A faint smile.

a tendril of flame waggles as if sticking it's tongue out

but that's probably jessica's imagination

She chuckles. Even if it's her imagination.... it suits.

A sigh. "I -should- visit."

The balefire sends wisps up her arm, and then along her brow ...

not so much as a crown as a reminder

that the two are one wherever she goes... perhaps it even means 'I got your back no matter what'
