"Yeah, like.... like.... in here?" He touches his belly. Ish.

"That's how it happens at the most base level... happens to some non kithain 'I've got a feeling in my gut' they say or they enter an area that makes them quesy, feel night mare energy, but they don't know the detailsj ust that they feel upset

"Yeah. I get that. Like..... " he remembers "......I know before a game? Some guys get those dreams. And sometimes, you're hanging out and...... like, stuff happens."

"There's power in any dream" A nod

"Coach used to say it was performance anxiety."

"It can be that too.." Magnus says "Okay, now the visions I saw indicate she wasn't here in the last 6 hours. So we continue. We knock on doors, ask questions. You bring a mask?"

"Yes, Sir."

"Good. Be charming, lad. Ask around. Folks will be confused by a young man your age asking around. So tell them you're working with a private investigator. It's the truth and the truth can be very useful"

"Yes Sir. Uh....."

"Go ahead, Adam. What's your thought?"

"Could I be a ...... friend of her family?"

"How old are you again?" he looks over the lad

"17?"

"Just, if she's 11......... does she have older brothers or sisters?"

"mmm at least your'e thinking it trhough" He ponders "But alas no, only child. Nevermind the New York/Jersey accent, the whole 'middle class white boy' bit

..and it's unlikely folks would believe it. not a bad try though. Like that your'e working angles"

"Just, it might be creepy."

"Which part, faking friendship or asking folks for a missing girl?" A brow

"Both?"

"I mean, I'm down and I want to find her but....."

"Hold on.." He reaches into the trunk, and pulls out something "Here. " he hands over a pack of pamphlets "Now you're asking them to help put these up, or keep an eye out. Pictures of the missing girl , fliers and sorts. Now you're just asking them to help put it up and that's less creepy. Just you being helpful. AND.. it gets them talking and you can see what they say"

"Yeah! Gotcha." he takes the packet "I'm on it." He leaps out of the car and starts down the street, house by house.

The first house goes fine , "Oh that poor girl. I've seen her but I can't say recently. If we see her we'll let folks know"

"Thank you."

He keeps it simple.

Then there's the next one.. he opens the door and the burly man looks up and sees Adam, "You!" He says, and grabs Adam by the shirt "You got a lot of nerve, you little shit, given the money your old man owes me"

"What??!?!?"

"Let go!!"

"Oh no, I get you now, and I'm gonna kick your flimsy narrow ass as a lesson, Woodlawn!" He shakes Adam and slams him against a wall, sending pamphlets flying

"What the....." but Adam does not waste more breath on that, he returns fire with fire!

He takes the first slam and drops the paper, then seeks to disengage the man's hands, break free, and dart away.

Adam has had practice, mostly in melee but some hand toh and and he's been in a few scuffs.

And he manages to get free

He's not afraid, per se, but he knows to leave a bad situation.

And hears Magnus "Adam?"

"Yeah!" He scoots away, exhilarated.

"You little shit," the guy chases after Adam "I'm gonna.."

Magnus sighs and pulls out a taser "Hi. I'm Anthony. I'm a private detective. This is a taser. Back away from my assistant or you'll be doing the electric slide the hard way"

Adam gets some space and turns. "Yeah? COME FOR IT!!!"

The guy eyes the taser, then Adam, more intimdiated by the former than the boy he has at least 50 pounds on

Then he says to Anthony "This little shit's dad owes me money"

"Liar." definitively.

Anthony/Magnus says "I think, Sir. You have mistaken Adam for someone else. What's this 'debtor's' last name?"

"Woodlawn" the guy says after sorting out 'debtor'

"Not him then," Magnus says "You've got the wrong kid. Listen to his accent. He's a New Yorker/ Jersey boy"

Unibrow guy growls, then says "Yeah well.. he LOOKS Like his son"

"fff.... screw you."

"Oh I'm gonna ..." The guy starts to take a step

Adam grins and beckons him on. Gimme

"We don't have tiiime" Magnus hisses at Adam, then looks at the guy "One more step and you kiss voltage. My left hand to God because my right will be squeezing the trigger"
