"Oh, Lulu was off limits. Good luck explaining that to her. It... sucked."

"Off limits?"

"You know what Lupe is, yeah?"

"So, they can be born from the human side - or the wolf."

"So wolves are endangered, right?"

"Yeah...?"

"And... yeah. Lulu's less.. um... human.. than Lupe."

"Wait. Wait. She was born a wolf?"

"Right."

She blinks. "That...okay, that's a whole different thing, yeah."

"So she's gotta go find a wolf guy and have puppies."

"And... yeah."

"Well...yeah..." she trails off.

"I know how to pick'm."

"But...if you and she had an understanding that it was...." She pauses. "No, forget that. That's just a weird situation."

"But like you said, Masey's got the same energy. With a lot less complications."

She nods.

"At least, you know, fun and no commitments. Which is... good, right?"

"I think so, yeah. Gotta make sure everybody's on the same page, but...yeah."

A soft sigh as she echoes. "Yeah."

Sylvi gives her a look and tries again with a much more pointedly upbeat tone: "Yeah!"

"Yeah." Trying!

"Yeah! Okay..." she stands up. "I'm gonna assume it's not euchre or bridge, and I'm gonna start getting ready now. Come on, I got some new liner and shadow colors. Let's try them out."

"Oh... Oh!"

"You think you could help me with eyeshadow?"

She gives Dagmar a look. "Seriously? Twist my arm." A wink "Let's do it!"

And cosmetics take centerstage for the rest of the afternoon.
