"I so" she sniffs "And thanks, I learned from some very good mentors. Want to go inside? I think the villain is defeated" She eyes the much abused Dummy

"Could use a warm up. Maybe a grilled cheese, too." She holds out her hand for Gerd's practice mace.

She hands it over "Mmm Grilled cheese with that WOULD be nice."

She puts the weapons away - practice or no, they deserve respect and care.

"Well, let's investigate!"

"Let's" She nods and in they go.

Vali is sipping hot chocolate at his desk, then looks up "Oh, you two are here? Thank goodness. I made WAY too much HOt coco . Whew"

A git of a lie, he probably made JUST the right amount

Gerd smiles "Good thing we're here then "mmmph ("Love you too, Uncle Vali") And she decides they'll make THREE sandwiches as she and Dagmar go to the kitchen

A little snort at the lie, but a smile. "Guess we'll help."

"Much appreciated" He assures them.

And the two go into the kitchen they've both come to love!

Dagmar tromps in to the lodge, smelling of hay and horses.

Hot Coco and hot coffee and even tea await, looks like beverage mode is going strong, Sally Mae knows it's cold out there

She lingers by the doorway to shuck her outerwear.

Rowan's standing near the Mountain's desk, looking through some of the books on the shelf. They look over their shoulder at the sound of Dagmar entering. "Oh. Hey."

Brows lift, then eyes narrow slightly.

"Hey." Neutral.

Looking back at the bookcase, pulls down a volume of bound records of the barony, flips through them a bit.

She balances herself by planting a hand against the wall, toeing off her boots. "Interesting reading material."

The histories ARE extensive, from Vegard, to Frank, to Vali... with other additions from others now and then.

"Mm." A neutral tone followed by a shrug. "It's here. Figured I might learn a thing or two about the place." Flips another page. "Who's 'Frank'?" Apparently looking at a signature on an entry. "Haven't met that one."

"You wouldn't have, no."

She goes over to the side table where the warm beverages live.

"He dead?"

"Nope."

"Moved on, then. Got it." Another page.

In the kitchen a kinain, clearly of troll descent but a rather pretty one, works

"Mm." She prepares a cup of coffee - fancy syrup and lots of cream.

Sally Mae peeks out, the kinian saying "Rowan, are you or Dagmar hungry?"

"Oh, uh...no? I don't think so, Thanks anyway, Sally Mae."

"I could eat, if there's something?"

"You're welcome, Rowan, let me know if you change your mind" Then she smiles at Dagmar "Well, we're finally out of Thanksgiving left overs. So I thought we'd break tradition a bit, so I made tacos if you want some. "

"Oh, tacos are good but sound like a lot of trouble..."

"Not really, got the materails all set out"

Rowan looks over at the mention of tacos, but then turns their attention back to the book.

"If you prefer, I can get you corn fritters "

"I just... I don't want to cause trouble." Keeping an eye on Rowan.

Rowan finds more notes, there ARE things that are clearly missing.. details on some treasures, names of allies.. oh, it's in metaphor, 'skald talk' sometimes

"Hm." An absent sound they might not be aware they're making.

"Let me show off, " Sally Mae winks and soon makes tacos, looks like she had begun already

"Okay..."

She folds her arms. "So."

Flipping back and forth.

"Not finding what you're looking for?"

"Hm?" Half turning. "Oh, no. Just...y'know, learning shit. You ever read these?" A gesture to the records in general.

She shakes her head. "I talked to folks instead, got the stories."

A brief smirk. "I get scolded for asking questions when I do that."
