"I've noticed!" Amused, and finishes the second taco.

"Like I said - fledged here. Spent this whole turn around trolls."

"For the longest time, Dagmar here thought Trolls were the most common kith"

"Did not!"

A chuckle.

Sally Mae smirks "You gawked at your first boggan like she was an alien"

"Listen, Anne Marie is a damn force of nature and you have to respect that."

"Well, fair counter point"

"I've met her. Her batteries are fully charged."

"Force. Of. Nature."

"She's a miracle worker" A nod

"Kind of exhausting to watch sometimes."

"Man, yeah. She, what, met me and got me put into an emergency foster placement in less than ten hours?"

"Something like that. It was a busy week."

"Yeah?" A pause. "Impressive."

"She's the underground railroad for lost kithain around here"

"Seriously. We get a lot of kithain that need a safe place. Not just childlings."

"Sounds like a flat out hero. She get recognition for that?"

"As much as she lets us. She's damn stubborn."

"Sounds kind of troll-like herself."

"She got knighted for it but it took a bit"

"Now pardon me, I need to get some more done in the kitchen" Sally Mae says

A nod. "It's easy for boggans to get overlooked, with all the stuff they do when nobody's looking."

"She's great, for sure. Thanks for the nosh, Sally Mae."

"Thanks again, Sally Mae. That hit the spot."

"Anytime" She waves "And I'll make a note it was a hit" And she departs

"Agreed. We have a couple boggans - you met Lucia, not sure if you've met Cleo."

"Yup, met Cleo. Kind of...stressy?"

"She's making progress."

A nod. "Hey, if I do approach your dad about a job, and I'm not sure I'm gonna, but if I do, any particular tips you can offer?"

"It's retail work. So - don't go in looking down on it? Some folks do."

"It's honest work, and worth doing well."

"Uh huh." A nod. "I'll keep it in mind."

"I'm gonna help Sally Mae clean up. Um. Take care?"

"Sure, yeah. Later."

And Rowan is left to return to their perusal of the bookshelf's contents.
