"Course, I suspect some will always prefer the classic, no shame in that but as I have a dozen of each... " She shrugs "Help yourselves"

"Toldja Sally Mae kicked ass." Dagmar starts filling up a plate, politely taking just one of the "weird" tacos and two of the classic.

Sally Mae notes Rowan putting away the book with care and gives a nod of approval there

"And thank you both for the praise, but wait till you try them. I got a taco making kit and Yule from family."

"I think I will have some after all." Rowan gets a plate and gets one of each, trying the sushi taco first.

"Mmmmmmm! Thank your family for that kit for me."

"Wait until she makes pie. She does this caramel apple cranberry thing?"

Obviously, much is dependent on one tastes, but if you like sushi AND tacos apart, you'll love the SUshi taco. And the Crispy Cheese Shell taco is to the Taco Bell Nacho Cheese Dorito taco what a high class escort is to a common streetwalker...sure, either can get the basic urges taken care of, but one is REALLY good

"That wasn't one of the pies at Thanksgiving...Oh, right, you weren't here for that."

"Nope, was at the Farmhold, and I'll make another for you sometime this week if you like, Dagmar"

Sushi taco earns Dagmar's dubious face, but she does finish it. Cheesy taco... well, look at that, she can take seconds.

"Farmhold's another lodge. We have pretty good relations with them."

Rowan apparently enjoys fish and seafood in general.

"Guessing it's not exactly a city place."

"As rural as it sounds" Sally Mae admits "But a good place to grow up for a troll or troll kinain. Mind you, I prefer places where I can shop"

"Yeah, you want really trollish, you look there. I mean, it's better now? A bit?"

"It can be a bit hidebound, but let's be nice about it" Sally mae ahems

"Better than 'really trollish'?" Rowan sounds surprised at the phrase.

"And I hear you, Sally Mae. Shopping is a priority."

"More traditional than here."

"The farmhold never surrendered to the Accordance" Sally Mae says with a shrug "Not a secret these days . Far too many nobles know of it for us to worry"

"Never..." A stunned moment before they remember they've got a mouthful to finish. After swallowing, asks, "Never surrendered, and never got claimed? How in hell did they pull that off?"

"Well, we pulled it off well" Sally Mae looks a bit smug, "And now we have allies"

"But they're still pretty cagey about outsiders."

"Can't blame us for keeping our guard up" She nods

"Nope."

"No shit." They shake their head in amazement. "Ever have any trolls show up being jealous? Like, if you didn't have to surrender, why the hell did we?"

"Where do you think we get fresh blood from? Behold" She gestures "Merely FIVE fingers on each hand, and no cleft lip" Dryly

Then she smiles

"I can imagine the detailed family trees, though."

"Heh. Gotta import, got it."

"That happening between there and here?" A grin.

"Well we try to keep track, but yes, " A look to Rowan "And Dagmar is not wrong. We've become more progressive under our new Chief, but we were VERY traditional and strict by most standards over security, secrecy, and yes, customs. " SHe blushes as asked "Oh I have a fellow but I'm pretty sure he won't be invited to dinner . He's a sidhe, and a Liam at that"

"Oof. Yeah. You told your folks yet?"

"My folks are..well, some are taking it all right, others not so well. 'I' am welcome, but there will be a row if I flash my perversions in their fface" She rolls her eyes "I will still look after them, but on my terms"

"Mm." A nod. "Makes sense. Boundaries."

"Their loss, too, if they don't get your cooking on a regular basis."

"You'll probably run into him. He works for my dad."

"Couple fae work for him, these days, mostly part time. King's Convenience, on Main?"

"Oh, yeah. Seen it, haven't been in there, yet."

"That's the first location, he's got another... other side of town. Not bad for a convenience store by the way, not nearly so 'cookie cutter" she nods

"If you're looking for work, it's fae friendly at least."

"Yeah? Your dad a good boss?"

"Well, I think so. But pretty sure I'm biased."

"Fair."

"Dad's pretty steady. Don't expect a lot of chatter."

"Pays reasonable given it's not the biggest money maker, but I've never known him to make a worker come in sick and he stands by his people"

"Oh. Troll talk."
