"Sylvi, you think there's more going on?" Dirk trusts her instincts

Sylvi doesn't answer Dirk right away. Finally, she shrugs. "I don't know, honestly. I might just be in overprotective troll friend mode."

"It's fine. I want him to be happy." Elsewhere, Brekke might be getting a headache.

"I want him to be happy, for real. Not happy pretend."

"He's been dating her for months."

"M-months?!" Her voice almost gets too loud.

"He wants us to like her. So, dammit, I am going to be nice."

"Almost all spring, yeah."

Dirk frowns, then looks about... and motions to a small shadow and tosses something over An embalmed frog. It is caught, and the shadow nods. Payment made. The little shadow gets to work

Sylvi gives Dagmar an admiring look. "Okay, then. You're right. Gonna be nice...today. But if anything else seems off, I'm going to start looking deeper."

"DA" Siv says to FRANK "Got a geniune Trucker Dog ready?"

Piper murmurs to Jonas, "Ugh, it's weird. Hot dogs sound good. Like, I know they're made of like, snouts and trimmings and blech...."

"I am trying not to lose my friend any more than I already have. I am not risking anything."

Jonas smirks at this and whispers "Clearly the child takes after me then. I adore snout trimmings"

Kerri made sure there are veggie-friendly options for burgers and dogs (even if a certain Rover thinks they're an abomination).

Piper has to cover her mouth as giggles escape. "Ewwwwwwww!"

Sylvi gives Dagmar another odd look, but leaves it at that.

"I... listen, I'm gonna go check on drinks and snacks. Make sure Kerri keeps her break."

Or perhaps...Sylvi catches a glimpse of Rikki. Where is she going with that tub of jello? She'd better check this out...

Piper misses this, but DOES see Dagmar. Excusing herself from Jonas, the little Satyr heads in Dagmar's direction.

Parties are easier when she's working. Having a job is good.

"Hey Piper. Things good? Things look good." Pulling out cans to restock the cooler.

"Any ginger ale in there? I have to distract myself before I eat one of.... I don't even know what's in a trucker dog, and I'm afraid of the burps later if I find out."

"I think they involve sport peppers, you don't want one." Rummage, rummage. "Here we go." Ginger ale!

"I have to thank Sylvi when I see her later - Jonas got back this morning, thanks for her dad." cracking the ginger ale gratefully. "Hey, I like sport peppers! They're vinegary and spicy."

"I'm glad. And I'm glad things look good." A small smile.

"Jonas is a good guy."

"And I get to thank you now." Beaming up at Dagmar. "I don't know if we would have cracked the... mystery, I guess, without your help. We talked to Jonas. Things are... weird, but I think they might just work out, you know?"

"I mean, it is pretty fantastical. Magic and all."

"But yeah, things might just work out."

"And you have one hell of a village to help."

Siv comes back with hot dogs , including one veggie one

"It helps. It really does." She glances around, seeing where people are. "Haven't figured out yet how to tell the Chief, you know? Like, this is not the time to make an announcement. Uh. or maybe it would be, then I could escape in all the confusion?" A little smile. "But it seems better to tell her personally.. and uh, figure out how to break the news."

Piper has abandoned Jonas at the snackbar and is off talking to Dagmar at the moment...

"I feel like, I dunno - brunch?"

"Dinner might be too formal."

"Oh" Siv sees Piper talking to Dagmar, and instead offers one to Jonas saying "Dagmar was super helpful" A whisper "She knows"

"Absolutely make sure Chief and Frank have coffee."

"Doesn't the caffeine make them irritable?"

"No - trust me, give them good coffee. Let them finish at least one cup."

"I get all jittery if I have more than 2 cups. And one of those troll mugs are like, three."

Still she nods, taking mental notes.

"I don't suppose I can just give her a "World's Best Grandma" mug and hope she sorts it out?"

Only half joking, perhaps
