"Wolves!" A gasp from Daria "With wings!"

And indeed, the wolves are diving through the trees snapping up particularly lazy squirrels

She slows Star. "Hello, friends!"

"Hello" One of the females says "Ah, nnot prey?" she eyes the centaurs

"NOT prey" Daria stamps her hoof

"Double-plus-not-NOT."

"Not prey." She nods.

"Pity, the list is getting rather long" She says, "But very well"

"You get all the squirrels you can catch." A little jealous. "Us ground wolves never catch any, they climb up and up and throw chestnuts at my nose."

At that, a dead squirrel lands on stormwake's back as a sky wolf 'shares'

right in front of connor

"There, little cousin"

"Farhowl...." She stops and blinks.

"Uh. Um." His chin quivers a bit, but he straightens up and manages to say clearly. "Thank you. I will eat it when I get home."

He covers it with his hat. To keep it safe from other predators, surely.

The sky wolf nods "Most welcome, little cousin."

"Farhowl, later - you think I could talk to your parents? We found this lost baby gryphon..."

"A gryphon? A sky king?"

"A baby."

"A prince then, they are to be treasured but also feared . It may one day day attack your horses"

Stormwake snorts

"How much do you know about them? Are they sentient, like you?"

"The gryphon dreams maybe beastial, but some talk even better than we. That it is their legend you know? That they are kings of the sky not because they are fastest, or fly the longest, or even most agile, but rather they they are the smartest at flight. They knnow the songs of currents better than ay"

She nods. "We might need some help raising it..."

"Or getting it home?"

"I will contact my parents" A nod

"oh, be careful. I know your kind also eat fruit. There is the white monkey of glutony about. I would not see you starved of fruit"

Siiiigh.

"Snow is on the prowl, yes."

"Do you need me to get you another squirrel?" Farhowl asks with concern

"We're good, thank you."

"How does squirel ta-" Daria starts to ask

"MY LOOK AT THE TIME" Fawn says before Daria can upset Connor more

"Yup, time to head back - thanks, Farhowl!"

Farhowl exlaims "May your winds be kind but not so soft that you grow soft yourselves' And off the sky wolf goes

"Okay, that's a beauitful dream" Buck admits "I'd love a tattoo like that"

"They're pretty amazing..."

And Stormwake sits, causing Connor to flump on his butt, then walks off to the Lodge.

Not. A warrior. snort

She trots Star up to Stormwake's side and snags him short up by the reins. "Oh no, we don't DO that."

Connor scoops up the squirrel and darts off into the woods.

To eat it, presumably!

Stormwake snorts. he is NOT her horse. he is he Chief's horse

Buck says "oh hey.." And chases after Connor, fast

"And would Chief approve of that?"

Buck scoops up the litle guy "Hey hey.. Easy I got you litle man. You can ride on MY back"

Dagmar glares down the bratty stallion.

The IMPERIOUS stallionn glares back

"This is.. awkward" Linwood observes

Connor thought he was fast, but Buck is quick!

“Oh! I was just. Going to go...” he carefully holds the squirrel.


“It’s just like a burger. Or a pork chop.” He tries to reason.
