Connor goes WIDE EYED and covers his mouth for a moment, trying not to giggle as Frank says it all. "SWEAR JAR!" He stage-whispers!

Sylvi gives Symon a thumbs up, and then she steps forward after Rikki's yell. "I was there at Dame Dagmar's dream dance. She's...she's just amazing. She feels everything so strongly, and fights to do the right thing every time. I have a lot of respect for that," she gives Siv a wink for a moment, then continues. "An oath like this strengthens her...and I absolutely trust her to use that strength for those who need her help. Hear her, Chieftain." A formal salute to Brekke, then a grin as she steps back.

She doesn't fidget. OR bite her nails. Or rub her neck. Her job is to stand there and take it, right?

Sylvi takes a moment to give her parents a little wave, giving her dad an amused look at his face paint.

And yes, this might be Dagmar's true test of bravery.

Nadeen steps forward "if I may?"

Brekke nods to Nadeen, inviting her to speak.

Symon steps back, yielding the floor politely.

"In some ways I knew Dame Dagmar before any of you. And she me. She was, in a past life, sworn to my father and my most treasured ally. I am with another hold now, but i was blessed, a word i do not use lightly, to have her in my life again and watch her bloom and grow anew here. She has more than once saved lives, she has fought and bled for the Barony and those she loves with honor that warms even a Varich's heart. Thouggh she served a Winter house and home with glory in a past I remember well enough to treasure... this is where her heart is, where her honor lies. She is not the only one bettered for having known Rivervale, but I maintain she has bettered it and all in her life in turn. Wisdom guide you Chieftain, embrace her as your knight. You will not regret it."

And she curtseys gracefully

Dag watches Nadeen, with a... complicated expression.

Brekke nods somberly at Nadeen's words. "Of this, I have no doubt."

"Will others speak? Do so quickly, for Dame Dagmar must prove herself once more before her oath."

Connor raises his hand meekly.

Brekke spots him, and beckons him forward.

He trots up, and fidgets with his sash for a moment before speaking, high and clear. "I do NOT think that Dagmar should swear this oath. She constantly lets people down, and gives up on stuff, and never follows through. If there is someone in trouble, you'd better call someone else to deal with it. And hard work? She leaves it all to me. As clear as day, she's the worst around, and if noone ever swore'd her to anything, it would be too soon. But that's just MY opinion." Grinning.

Kerri smiles and nods at him, and even Brekke grins approval of this endorsement. "Well said, Connor!" Sylvi calls out, laughing.

Dag grins at that.

Piper covers a small snort of amusement. She whispers to Siv, "Do you think I should point out that it's a plus how she turns just a bit purple when she's embarassed? It's hella cute!"

Siv chuckles "after the oath" she whispers

Jaymes looks to Tove. Tove nods "We, her parents, are delighted to have her in our lives. I could go on for hours about it, but.. well, we must move on. But suffice to say we take pride in our daughter, and think her most worthy " And a smile and step back

Brekke nods. She's quite certain much more has been said by her parents before this, and will be said after. A look about the crowd, but if none other steps forward immediately, she does not let the silence draw out.

Now, just a little fidget.

"Then...Dame Dagmar...it is time for you to demonstrate your intent to serve." She moves away, towards the far side of the ring. "I have need of a strong warrior in my service, and a warrior who knows when to use her strength, and why. So...show me."

And in a move that must scandalize Nadeen no end, Brekke bends to manipulate her court garb to gird her loins....

Gwydions..sigh but nothing is said outloud

This is not something that either of them has shared with others in advance, though clearly it is planned between them. Brekke takes up two shining swords from the side of the ring, and once Dagmar has Flyswatter stored away, tosses her one across the ring.

Dagmar catches the blade, and sweeps into a bow - an honor and a flourish both.

Colton watches with interest . Sylvi can tell he's taking notes menntally

A gesture returned by Brekke. "Show me!" she repeats, and the fight is on!

Only...this isn't actually sparring. It's energetic and unrestrained, but...it's almost more like...play! Trollish play that could end up in real injury!
