"All I know is the bounty on her head was huge... I think the Pinkertons paid me good money.. or was it the Rangers?"

"Wasn't that Robin Hood?"

"Like Robin Hood, yeah - but in the old west."

"And she wasn't always nice she shot a sherif.. but she did not shoot the deputy" He might be confusing a memory with a song

"Ok... well.... I guess if you guys are ok...." He glances up to where Sylvi disappeared to ".... I'll get back home. Thanks for the help."

Nabuni says says "I'll go with him" Then a blush "But you knew that"

"I'm okay. Thanks for making sure I got here safe, Adam."

" 'Course, Dag." He grins. "Later Dirk." A beat. "Good work and stuff."

Dirk looks up "Yeah well.. thanks. Glad you're not like..dead"

Meanwhile, upstairs, Sylvi tells her mother some of the story of what happened, and hugs Flopsy SO TIGHTLY as she describes the sacrifice of the dust bunnies.
So she won't be back down for a while.

"Cool." He nods. "See ya."

Flopsy nuzzles and lets himself get squeezed. he's not velvet anymore, but the love remains when you're real.

Adam heads out to the parking lot and his car, Nab on his shoulder or where she likes.

And soon Adam is on his way home

When he steps out the door, a figure separates from the shadows and gives him a small wave. A sluagh within what looks like a borrowed troll hoodie that seems to have half swallowed him, who tries to flag Adam's attention.

Face mask pulled down around his neck he shuffles over, and mutters something at Adam in a rough whisper. "I need a ride. I have dross to pay for it."

"Uh..... did you use the app?" He checks his.

Symon gives a glance back at the door. "No, my phone's locked up. Took you forever to come out. It's a long ride. You up for it?"

He.. oof, he stinks today.

"Jeeze.... " He rubs his forehead, looks at Nab. "Yeah, yeah, I guess. Sure. For you? Sure. You mind, Nab?"

"Nah, go for it" Nab says

"I'm on a mission. Gotta keep it low key." Hoodie flops low on his face and he flinches a bit as he turns, hiking up his belt as he steps towards the car.

"Trolls will think it's too dangerous and try to stop me. But I figure you're not afraid.... right?"

"Hell no. What's the mission?" He unlocks the car for everyone, opening his door for Nab (is she's coming with).

"I'd ruther it's just us menfolks. I left my cat at home too. I can tell you on the way... what I'm allowed to say."

And he draws a hand forth, a gleam of dross in whatever he has clutched there. "You know I can pay."

"I can't just ditch Nab. But we can drop her at our place." He offers.

He hesitates, clearly eager to get going. But then nods. "Can I sit in the back? I know I reek." Hmmm spoiled milk, a hint of... skunk, maybe? Definitely something from the compost heap.

"I'm okay either way..."

"It's at least a four hour drive to Rome..."

"Phew. Yeah. Dude. I mean.... that's -extra- pungent." Adam hops in. "Rome?? C'mon, Nab, I'll drop you at home."

He gets in the back seat, and tugs his hoodie low again.

Nab slides in. "Okay"

A whisper, the rasp sounding tired. "Lemme know when we hit the highway headed north? I just want to close my eyes a little."

"Yeah, sure." Adam glances in back, a bit concerned, but off they go to the Thomas residence.

Nabuni says "Sure you don't want to ask him to shower real quick?" A sniff "Or maybe get some air freshener?"

"Not like he can help it, right? Something feels...... off? Like, weird. Even for us." Adam speaks quietly. "I'll shower up before bed, though."

"I can hear you, you know." Whispered.

"You can open the windows, but you won't be able to hear me then if the car is on the go." He offers.

"Fine fine... sorry" Nab says

"Sorry, man. But this -is- kinda weird."

"You don't want the dross? I can take the bus." He tries the door handle. "You could at least drop me off there."

"Dude, stay in the car!"

A soft huff. "Been a long day."

"I said I'd take you. And I'm not looking to see that bus station again for a while, ok? Chill."

He pulls up to his house. "See you later, Nab?"
