Brekke nods. Then she looks to the Lodge. "Hearth, see if the Mountain is within. He needs to contact Jude."

"Yes," Kerri says. A final warning glance to Zane, then she heads inside.

Adam props himself up, cradling the hand that was injured.

Zane gulps. Fearless against wizards... Kerri can still scare him

"What happened?"

"What I'm asking," Sylvi echoes.

"Thought we were easy marks, asshole?" Dagmar rumbles by the old man's ear.

"This thing," Brekke points at the mage, "is a willworker. He stole Adam's body, and used it to get into the Lodge. He tried to Reave the balefire."

The wizard "you.. it's just power... power belongs to those who can seize it"

"Hold it... wait...." Adam struggles to his hands and knees, 'limping' with the healed one, and crosses over to the bum.

"Oh!" Sylvi blinks, then, "Oh." And her glare is added to the others directed at the wizard.

Brekke puts out an arm to keep Adam from getting too close.

As everyone focuses on the will worker, Piper fades into the background, and quietly takes off.

"This.... not the first time. Who was he, before you took him?"

Brekke blinks. "You are right."

Inside the Lodge (because somebody's player forgot she's also supposed to be there, too), Kerri calls out for the Mountain, hoping he is home.

Brekke leans her weight a bit more on the shattered hand. "Answer him."

"Victor Diwitz? I...he didn't have your gifts... but he served"

"So wait, he's some body-jumping evil wizard? For fuck's sake..."

Within, Kerri abandons that search and goes to the phone closet, finding the number in the list kept nearby. She dials California.

"Stars only comee right like twice a century at most if i'm lucky.. I... Diwitz is dead. Long dead..."

"You have seen fit to ruin lives to your own advantage. It is time for your debts to be paid back."

"Don't.... don't punish that body, Chief. It's suffered."

Adam sits back on his heels.

Brekke blinks at Adam. "Its correct owner is gone, Adam. "

"I put him in my old old body...he died of old age decades ago.. better him... than me" the wizard says

"Pretty sure we all disagree on that point," Sylvi grumbles at the man.

Yes, Jack is getting Frank and Tove and Jaymes and Snow...

"I know." He looks up... UP... at Brekke with weary, pained eyes.

Brekke meets the gaze, not shifting her stance. "This body's soul is long gone, Adam. The one that is here deserves the pain."

"You sure took shit care of THIS body."

"Can we give that body rest?"

"Meth was a mistake.." He says

The wizard glares at Adam "I couldn't have taken your body if you didn't on some level, think just like me. That you were better, that you deserved more. I didn't make you a perfect subject"

"I wish to hear what Jude says."

A slight grinding of her foot. "Sylvi, fetch a cloth to gag him."

"Yes, Chieftain." Sylvi looks only too happy.

And soon he is gagged. Broken hand. Sure, he MIGHT work some magic but it us unlikely

INSIDE: Frank pushes open the door from patrol, hangs up his coat and is unlacing to toe off his boots.

From the phone closet, Kerri waves him over urgently.

Then to the phone, "Hang on, Frank just got here, he doesn't know...."

Jack comes after "HE CHIEF IT"S A BAD GUY who.. oh.. we're here"

Frank takes off his boots ('cause Kerri!) and heads over with a perplexed look.

Jaymes is grumbling... and the reason? Tove is with him "No, she is our daughter and if she's in trouble"
