She ponders then says "Pretty sure it's Barbie. If you see me, but I'm Barbie... yeah.. probably the one you should avoid" A nod

He squirms anxiously. “No... I mean it.” He insists.

Gerd nods, then says "Oh... Vegard my past life?"

He exhales in relief and gives her a tight hug. “You could have been a secret bad guy. But no bad guy knows that.”

"oh." She nods "Okay.. I know it's hard... you want to go through life on guard at the ready but not even trolls can live like that for every day, Connor. And that's okay. Joy is important. Fun is important. That's why you're such a good ember. You're full of fun and joy. I don't want you to lose that okay?" She nuzzles his nose "But yes, very clever test."

“Fun for tomorrow, maybe. But today my insides are still all jumbledy.” He rubs his head and admits.

"Okay, are they too jumbly for a snuggle and a book reading? It's okay if you fall asleep while I'm reading. I figure we can pick up in the morning and I'll still be next to you. Okay?"

Gerd smooths his damp hair, stroking it so.

“....Kay.” A nod.

And she turns "Night, guys" Picking Connor up she lets him wave then heads off to read

“Oh... Lily?” He peers around. And tells Gerd as they go, “if Lily showed up, I could be scared with her instead. She’s a good scary.” Voice loud enough so that if a sluagh is hiding, she might overhear.

"Well, I think she's gone home but if I see her I'll let her know"
