The next day, Etsie is gone. It's safe again

Dagmar is bouncing around the great hall, her homework currently being neglected.

Sally Mae says "Dagmar, I'm sorry but there is at this moment almost nothing to do in the kitchen. "

Sylvi's trying to finish up the last of her social studies work, but she's kind of in the same headspace as Dagmar.

"It's nice out..."

"It is, it is" Sally Mae says "But part of disipline is.." She looks outside at the sun and the trees swaying in the wind "Shit. I can't do it. I'll grump if I do."

"I bet it's nicer today than it was during The Battle of the Bulge...." Sylvi grumbles.

"Shows you've been studying.. I hearby declare an hour recess .. go on outside. just don't interact with any mortals with in 6 feet." Sally Mae motions to shoo them out

"Totally nicer."

"OKAY." Nobody has to tell Dagmar twice!

Don't have to tell Sylvi twice.

...either.

"Where do you want to go, Dagmar?"

"Dunno. Lake?"

"Sounds good." Sylvi grabs up her spear on the way out the door.

To the lake they go.

Flyswatter, too. It's nice to walk in sunshine and fresh air.

The lake is a oddly empty. Normally on a day like this, after winter no less, teens and wilders would be in droves even if the water might still be too cold.

But instead the lake side seems, wonderful, but deserted. Well, at least of mortals.

"Hey, hear that? Spring peepers."

"Oh, hey..."

"I've never actually seen one..."

"They're really hard to see. It's like...they're smart. They hear you coming, and the closest ones will shut up but all the others keep going, so you only hear the ones that aren't near you...so you move over there, but then those ones shut up and the other ones start again."

"You know about the only time you're going to be able to see them, right?"

"When might you see them? Maybe, like, with magic?"

"Nope..." She grins, then says, "When they're mating. In the shallow water. They kind of forget they're visible when they...y'know."

and the peepers stop as someone comes crashing towards the lake

The pooka panics as the scuttling swarm of bugs goes after her... Eden swallows as the filthy roach like things, each the size of a human hand try to get her.

"Eden? Hey...!" And then Sylvi spots the...things. "Hey, Dagmar, look. Hang on, Eden!" She runs to the pooka.

"Whoa!"

It is hard to hit small things with the halberd - might be easier to just stomp on them with booted feet.

Sylvi stabs at one of the hands.

The roach hand things crunch, and emit a sickly smelling scent

STOMP.

And now ..Dagmar feels a bit..dizzy

"Good thing you two are immune to magical illness!" She gestures and flings some of them back with a gimmix

"Oh, no...." Sylvi puts her free arm in front of her face, but still stabs with the spear. "Hang on...I need to work on the lake!"

"Keep them off me a minute, then try to toss them in the lake!"

"Uh.. kay..." She frowns and squints.

"I got the eye of the liger, I'm a mixed up survivor, but I'm gonna make you sooooarr" Katy Perry's 'classic' gets butchered by Eden as she tries to mix a little Scene in with her Fae

Sylvi rushes to the lakeside...and then wades into the lake, even though it's freezing cold. "Wash, wash, wash your hands, 'til they're really clean! This whole lake will virus cure, and that will fix this scene!" she sings through chattering teeth.

STOMP.

And several but not al lare flung while others are crushed.. the ones flung land into the 'SPring stew' and seem to disolve

on the shore, those crushed leave being an odious sickly smell in the air...

Eden coughs and tries to cover her face "There's so many, we'll have to sacrifice the white girl to them" She tells her fellow Biracial Dagmar

"Guys, hurry! Jump in the water! It'll help!"

"Uh-huh..." She agrees, blearily.

And Eden takes advantage of the shaky ground to push the much taller girl into the lake

"Fun prank huh?" She says terrified as she also goes in
