"There was the house that put a padlock on the fridge. I was always hungry there."

"Okay, those guys were worse than jerks" Siv observes

From the living room, music begins to blare...

"Well, nobody goes hungry here."

An awkward look at Dagmar for a moment, then she offers, "We made kind of like rice krispie treats, but with Cheerios, once. They're pretty good. Maybe we can do something like that for dessert...."

"Oh, crap - dessert? Maybe!"

"Who the heck?"

Sylvi goes out into the living room. "SSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!"

Welcome to the Black Parade, My Chemical romance is playing and Sylvi steps out to shh Gerd who is dancing, "Shhh yourself? It's not that late. " She says "So why shouldn't I enjoy my tunes?"

"Oh, shit." Stop buttering. Stir the sauce. Taste the sauce. Hunt for the sugar.

"Mom's sick." Eyes wide with the implications of this.

Gerd shuts the music OFF. Then whispers "She is? "

Siv says "everything okay?" To Dagmar

"Forgot an ingredient, but We Got This." Tove uses a tablespoon... so... one... two...three?

Sylvi nods. "Just a cold, but Dad says she needs to be able to sleep. So...headphones for now?"

Siv shoots a dubious look at the amount of table spoons but nods.

Another taste.

"Headphones? No way." Gerd says "I don't need to listen to music. I need to go get some food from Hearth Agnes, some of that soup she uses for colds maybe. This could be an emergency, or at least yellow alert."

A worried crease between her eyebrows.

Siv says "Hey, let me sample?"

She offers the spoon.

Siv tries it.

"Oh! Good idea, Gerd, would you? Do you need me to come with, or can you manage?"

It is, unsurprisingly, oregano forward and a touch sweet - edible, certainly! But it is NOT Tove-quality, nor Kerri's.

"Needs salt, I think."

"Too much oregano and yeah, a bit sweet...not sure, Sylvi might have an idea"

The veggies certainly add a nice depth of flavor. "Tove says salt cancels sugar."

Gerd nods "I could use the help. THey may load us down when I tell them"

She adds a conservative amount, measuring it out in her hand.

"Okay, hang on a sec..." She pokes her head back in the kitchen door. "Guys, Gerd and I are going to make a quick Farm run for some of their miracle soup. Don't burn the place down, okay?"

"We GOT this."

Another taste, and a less frowny result.

"And SHHHH!"

And Sylvi heads out of the Lodge with Gerd.

"Don't burn the place down... mmph... tyranical, that one" Siv sniffs

But Gerd and Sylvi are gone before they can hear the accusation

"Honestly, we're not allowed to do anything."

Back to buttering!

"Right. I mean, you've been plenty in the kitchen and even I've got my turn now and then" Siv says "if this was fish, I coudl really cook it" Might be the only think she's learned to cook well

"Well, I don't know any fish recipes..."

"You almost done?"

"Yes yes...meat's good. Just like you and Sylvi wanted"

"Cool. Into the sauce, yeah? So it can simmer."

"Right. "Deft hands, but perhaps a bit too enthusiastic, there's a risk of back splash

Splash won't hurt much!

"oops" but they carry on

The bread is laid out on a baking sheet before being sprinkled with garlic powder.

"Oh, some butter for that too?"

"Already buttered them. So, like, they have to broil, but we don't wanna do that until the pasta goes in the water.
