"Emergency" Siv says alarmed, racing down to the lodge's main floor "Dagmar, Sylvi? You two here?"

"Emergency? beats homework. What's up?"

"Kerri's got a cold or something..." Siv says "SHe just sneezed up enough snot to fill a troll's hand"

"Olgar refuses to let her work... well, not that he'd word it that way. And Sally Mae is at a family thing for a few days. And Kerri doesn't want Tove near her because the baby... I think we're on Hearth duty"

"Oh... um."

"I can make spaghetti?"

"That'll feed everyone."

"We can get Tove to cook in your place and bring it here too.. I suppose. I got money for pizza orders also"

"Why not cook in the Lodge kitchen?"

"I mean, if Sally Mae is out, it'll be... you, Gerd, Connor, Lut and Tig..." She starts counting people.

"We can't ask Tiffany for help, she's..BETTER, but half the time everything still tastes like kibble"

"I mean, if your mom wants to help, .err Tove I mean... then she should cook outside the lodge and we bring it in cuz Kerri doesn't want her to catch the bug"

"I can MAKE spaghetti!"

"In the kitchen! Here!"

"Okay, okay" She says

Siv says "Sorry, I'm just a bit.. I mean, Aunt Kerri never gets sick that I've seen. SHe's.. invincible, the tides..."

"We'll need the big stock pots. Come on, you're helping."

"Yes, of course I'm helping.. it's just... I mean, there's also the finances and the cleaning and the community phone tree or whatever she calls it and the visits..."

"Hmph. Dinner first."

Sylvi hurries in from outside and drops her backpack and coat on a chair. "Dad texted me. Has she been out here?"

"Hi Sylvi. No."

"Good. Trust me, you don't want to see that."

"Nope. She's sick. Your dad is gone into this weird pitbull mode.. I think even Oak is afraid of him right now"

"I bet she's a lousy patient."

Or maybe Oak is scared of Kerri

"I'm making spaghetti. Wanna help? There might be some soup in the freezer for your mom."

"Yeah, he does that. And yeah, she is. They're pretty much going to lock themselves in that room a couple of days." She's rolling up her sleeves.

Siv does the same.

Mackerel shoots by and goes to hide.

Dagmar marches into the kitchen.

Siv watches the cat shoot off "Coward"

"You can do spaghetti? Perfect. I'll help in a minute, but gotta start the laundry. There's gonna be a TON of snotty handkerchiefs soon, so better get started on what already needs it."

"Right. I'll help with the pots then" Siv says "You handle the laundry, Dagmar your'e the chief. Tell me what you need" She goes into the kitchen "And later I'll wash dishes"

"Get the two BIG pots, and fill them up about even with the handles with water."

Sylvi heads upstairs and starts wrangling hampers.

Siv grabs the big ones... and begins to fill as directed

She starts collecting supplies - canned sauce, onions, garlic, spices....

"Pour a big swig of salt in each of them. Should 'taste like the sea' Tove says..."

"HA. THAT I know." Siv seems more confident, it involves the sea? She can get it.

Sylvi may notice the hand in her tank is using ASL for 'look out, your mom's sick'

Or maybe that was her imagination

in corners, dustbunies, ever opportunists... begin to accelerate breeding.. nothing too severe... yet

"Balls." The only ground beef is frozen. She shoots the ziplock a dirty look.

"Hot soak?"

"Well, there's mushrooms, and peppers too..."

"Could make it vegetarian?"

"What are we, Lion pooka?" Siv says

Sylvi passes through the kitchen with a hamper piled high, and heads down the back hall that leads both to the laundry alcove and her folks' room.
