Colton looks at Sylvi "is he alwaysy 'the glass is half empty and possibly poisoned?'"

A thin, gummy smile and shrug.

"Hey, it's not like he's wrong. Yeah, you want to ask Mom to whisper both of them?"

"You think the saddle might be magic?"

“Nah, glowing runes are just for show.” A more natural grin over to Dagmar.

Kerri returns from getting another round of drinks (including Dr. Pepper for Dagmar) from the kitchen, and she overhears this. "I can talk to them if you like, certainly. I'll admit to being curious, especially after seeing how powerful that cauldron is."

"If you don't mind, Hearth" Colton's says "I may not be the best scholar but I know a little knowledge never is alost"

Siv asks "Can I see this saddle?"

"Well, everybody bring your treasures here, and let me take a look."

"That is, unless you'd rather find out in private?" That seems to be directed to Symon, as she's aware sluagh like to have some knowledge kept privately.

“Maybe it summons its own magical fae mount. Or maybe it turns the horse it’s on into a Pegasus. Or a Kelpie. Nocturnys didn’t say these were all GOOD gifts. Just powerful. I bet SS, rot in pieces, would keep cursed things too.”

"Yup. Half empty and poisoned"

Colton observes

"I'll get it."

He nods to Kerri. “I... think I know what mine does, but I wanted to show you anyways, actually... uh. Maybe later, when it’s calmed down?”

It isn't far - she stashed it in a corner. The runes shimmer against the burnished leather.

“I prefer “cautious” to “pessimistic”. But the latter, I’m either right, or pleasantly surprised.”

Siv takes a look at it, "Okay, I'm no expert on saddles but this leather work looks masterful" She nods and moves to her father's notes

"Where did dad put the book on runes..hah"

Symon creeps a bit closer, eyeing the runes with interest. Not closer than Dagmar, though, this is HERS after all.

A whisper for Dagmar’s ears.

Kerri nods agreement with Symon, and she also looks over the runes on the saddle. "Hm."

"Here we go... mm you know that growing wing things isn't far off... some of the runes are akin to Valkyrie symbols..and others of air.. and sky..."

"Well, here, let me try...." And she starts casting.

It turns out, after investigating, that the Anvil grants a -2 to all Difficulties for crafting and it easier to imbue magic into items. Only smith work stuff, of course.

The Saddle does indeed grant WINGS on any enchanted or fae steed

“The anvil has more potential... but it’s his decision.” Symon whispers thoughtfully. “Maybe the Hearth would let others use it. Unseelie, though. Maybe, at a cost.”

"Wow..." Sylvi whispers about the sword.

She has also brought down her mirror, and the acorn and rocking chair are still there, too.

The acorn is a true prize... from a certain point of few. Plant it, and over night, a forest, not a chimerical forest either, starts growing.

Then she catches Dagmar's look. "You totally have to try that, Dagmar."

Siv laughs "Oh sure, let JAYMES panic"

"He wouldn't."

Symon quietly pages through his book while they discuss.

Kerri grins. "Jaymes gets to panic just like the rest of us. He just does it quietly."

The mirror lets you not only see someone, but talk to them

but there has to be a personal attachment
