While Jessica, Siv and others snooze and recover...

at the ironhawk house, TOVE is hugging the hell out of Dagmar

"To-ove! I told you we'd be fine! We're fine!"

"I know, I know..." She says, but gets one last hug in anyway "but sue me, I missed you"

"It was like, a day." Purple.

"A crazy day" She says "Felt like weeks."

Jaymes mutters "Skalds can be a little hyperbolic"

"Well, yeah..."

That earns him a LOOK, and a mmph

"But the dragon is dead, and Chief'll be home soon."

"Oh thank the Dreaming for that too. So, do you remember much?" They lead her in to her home. They've had guests here today, she can tell how everything is sorted. A few DeBukes maybe, but no doubt already on their way. Now that its safe again they'll be going back to the farm.

"A few things. The dogs turned out okay."

"I got to smash stuff, THAT was fun..."

Twobit waggles happily to see Dagmar, she maybe Jaymes' dog, but she also likes Dagmar

"Symon's smart. Seriously, every quest he just figures out stuff."

She scoops up the terrier with a "Heya!"

"You're smart too," Tove says, "It's just folks tend to remember the smash stuff for the stories"

"So, yeah - the skalds should talk about how much Symon figured out."

"How to get the guards to ignore us, even if it stunk, stuff like that."

The terrier mix is a bundle of furry happy

"I'll make a note of Symon's ideas," Tove says "Songs should also praise guile."

Jaymes grunts (Smart wins fights muscle didn't see)

which, grunt or not, sounds like advice that was given to him long ago

Raindrop whinies and flies in graceful loops over Dagmar to greet her too

A laugh at the tiny horse's antics. "YOU don't need a treasure to fly..."

"Treasure?" Tove says "Sounds like some more to the story there. Let me get you something, you want fancy that will take time, or something quick like little pizza rolls?"

"Pizza rolls, please."

"On it!" She says "But tell me about this treasure?"

She leaves the kitchen door open so she can hear.

Jaymes on the other hand, guides his daughter to a seat, that cushy spot that's HERS.

"Well, we each got to keep one thing from the hoard..."

"I mean, I know I don't have a horse, but everybody agreed I should take the saddle, anyways..." Purple again.

Jaymes nods ("Earned it")

"The saddle lets horses fly? that's amazing!" From the kitchen, "And you'd hardlyy be the first hero who had a treasure they didn't always have an easy way to use. Nevermind that I suspect the Chieftain will be happy to let you borrow a horse as long s she can borrow the saddle now and then. It's an honorable trade."

"Well, maybe, yeah."

Smells of pizza rolls arise from the kitchen

Jaymes mutters "We're lucky to have pizza rolls. DeBukes have been in the barony. They have healthy appeties"

"Pizza rolls are healthy."

"Grains and veggies and dairy..."

"mm cheese" He agrees

"You know what else is healthy?" From the kitchen "Lutefisk."

"NOPE!"

"It's fish, that's BRAIN food!" She protests, "Back me up here, Jaymes."

Jaymes errrs then looks at Dagmar "It probably has a fish brain in it..somewhere"

"She promised I wouldn't have to eat it."

"I thought that was the okra?" He said

"...that too..."

Jaymes processes this, then lowers his voice for his daughter, "GOOD choices there to get on your block list."

A grin at her dad. "Right?"

"Hey, what's going on in there? Treachery? Is it treachery?" Tove says, but there is a playful tone to her voice
