She bites her lip, unsure if she should tell her father about the 'vamp' act, then decides that as a Liam, her dad needs to know, "Let me tell you everything. Word for word as best I can remember, and good god, don't get words wrong if you ever talk to him... because they can and will be used against you in the court of Adam... who ironically resents being judged less than immediately worthy. Regardless, I appear to have bungled it badly." She gets her dad a drink, this could take a bit.

And she tells him EVERYTHING... from Adam coming in with Dagmar, to talk to the Chief. To what was said on all sides there.. TRYING to get every one's lines right... and then jumps to her own attempt to make a point...that apparently went completely over the shorter mortal's head.

And how from there, it started as good advice... and went down hill. Word for Word again.

BIC: She goes on for quite a bit... though as she's playing all parts it goes a bit quicker.

And she refills his juice

Frank nods, listening. Steps out of his boots. Finishes his juice.

"I started out trying to help, by the time it was done I wanted to punch his face in. "

"Pardon, by the time HE was done. "

Frank nods, understanding.

He rinses out his glass.

"So.. what did I do wrong? You were a 16 year old snot once right?"

Frank levels a gaze at her. "Yes."

"Siv, you came on to him. Deliberately. A 17 year old mortal kid."

"For all the best reasons but..... carrot, stick. Lots of stick."

"It sounds, from what you say, that you tried to talk him through things... and for that I thank you."

"I guess I didn't see the lots of stick as lots of stick, but may I ask why I should offer carrots for bad behavior? isn't that the opposite of what you're supposed to do?"

"Siv. You came on to him." As distasteful as it is, Frank calls it. "You know Gina was pregnant at 18, right?"

"Yes. I know." A nod "I'm not sure what it has to do with me as I sure wasn't going to let even the chance go that far?"

"Did he know that?"

"Yeah. Waiting was in the damn speech.. that was the comparison.. he was willing to wait for one thing, not another."

The 'damn' not so much frustration with her father, but with the effort on her part that seemed to have lead to nothing.

"Siv... maybe he thought you were asking him about his boundaries? What he wanted in a kind of relationship? And then you bring the rest of this up?"

"Maybe he's hurt you weren't .... interested in him?"

She frowns "I see. In short, in my attempt to get his attention, I may have pretty much got him to tune out everything that came after because he was already smarting over something he saw as a tease and rejection instead of an attention getter and then explanation?"

Making sure she got that right.

"Maybe. I don't know the boy that well."

"From what you've said, you made an impression."

"He's kind of 'impressed' by all the girls" she says

"I mean, he's not a stalker... but he enjoys flirting. Not that I can throw stones"

She pulls her phone out and texts Adam

"Well." Frank agrees, turning to her from the sink and watching her 'text'.

She does so and says "I don't know dad. I just..I feel for him, I do... but I also wonder if I shouldn't beat him up before Dirk does. I'd be gentler"

She sighs "He types cool when he really means 'whatever'" She texts back a simple wonder word response "Nothing to be done"

"Siv. He might be trying to save face."

"How can he do that when he makes his face so punchable?" Wry "No no.. I get it. We're all proud in our own ways. I'm not trying to cost him face. It's just very much a barrier to conversation is all"

A look at her dad "You might want to go let mom vent to you about this. She... she was hurt by what he said. And Adam just doesn't understand how much she's doing for him"

"Thank you, Siv. I'll speak with Brekke about this."

"Dad. Tell her everything if you think it will help. I don't want to narc, but she needs to know how I misstepped, and more importantly it might give her insight into Adam so she can figure him out where I clearly cant'"

He nods. "I will."

"Thanks. I'm going out myself. Speed limit and all. Need me to pick up more juice? I notice you've been drinking more ... "

"I think we're fine, but that's Kerri's say."

"Good point. She might have plans." Siv says "Okay. " A pause, "is there a reason you're cutting down on coffee?"

"Keeps me up at night."

"I thought it was worrying Jessica and I that did that" She moves to her father and hugs him "Sorry about that."

He hugs her. "No apology needed, Siv."

"Actually, having seen Adam's impatience and realizing I was just like that more than once? I think I owe you quite a few on the backlog. He's got a good heart, but wow.. he wants what he wants noa"

"And I was probably worse" ANother squeeze, and she heads for the door

"Mmph." Non committal, Frank goes to draw another drink.
