"Chits? What, are those like bugs or something?"

"Hey Adam!" A grin!

"More like before dice you drew these lots" He explains.

He nods to the owlish guy and then Sam. "Heyeyyyyyyy....." His greeting goes a little sideways as he sees Sylvi.

Sylvi turns to look at the new arrival. Hm...kind of hidden behind his sunglasses and hat, but yeah, he could be cute. She gives him a wave.

mm one weak bit of dross is a third party Science fiction number where the earth has been divided among alien species... that one flopped but the writer had hopes.

He starts to give her a grin that might be over-confident, then looks a little confused and cautious and turns his back to look only at Sam. "So, um. What's up?"

A stronger bit of dross is a 'Escape from the slave lords' module with hearts doodled on it and the name 'Jeff' in one of the hearts three times

"Sylvi, this is Adam. Adam, Sylvi... and we're working on a plan for stuff."

"Hey, Adam. Don't worry, I know the sitch." And she turns to Mr. Tully. "How much for these?" she holds up both books.

Zane was right. Sylvi is hotter than Siv

Mr. Tully names the price "I can 'ring you up here' if you like.

"Sure, thanks! The guy out front...well, he didn't even look up when we came in." She shrugs and hands over the money to finish the purchase.

"Stuff."

"Oh he's my nephew. He owns the place. Not a bad sort, but he doesn't have a sense of...wonder anymore" A tisk and he writes her a reciept

"Stuff. Before school starts."

"Oh." Sylvi nods. "Um...I think Adam here got a book the other day. Do you have any more copies of it? Fairy-something?"

"Kay. You needed me here for that?" Not curt, confused.

"Oh that. I don't even know how that one got in here." Mr. Tully says "I Had to arbitrarily put a price on it."

"Sorry, far as I know, that was one of a kind"

"Probably less than that, now...." Muttered. Maybe Sam can hear.

"Was thinking... just... maybe you saw some other cool ones?" A shrug.

A quick glance over at Sam and Adam, but then she asks Mr. Tully, "Do you ever run any gaming nights here? Anything like that?"

"me? No no.. I haven't run a game in years. Pity. And this back room doesn't have room for a proper table with all this stuff. " He seems sad "Ah well. But don't you worry. I bet you could find a group big enough and one of you could step up."

Sylvi frowns momentarily, but then nods and smiles again, picking up the books she purchased. "Thanks, Mr. Tully."

"You're welcome, now can I help either of you two?" He says to Sam and Adam

"I was wondering if you had any werewolf or vampire games? Like, y'know, movie monsters?"

"No. Thanks. I'm good." Watching.... somewhere else.

She checks where he's looking.

"Sure.. here we go... you want 'It came from beyond the silver screen' or ' Lupine: The Savaging'? THere's also "Bloodsucker: Angst and Arrogance'" He seems to know just where to find one

"Lupine? Yeah, that one."

Nothing she can see....

Sylvi also tries to spot what Adam is looking at.

"Here you go... oh.. there's also this one... 'Cheermonsters and Jockcreatures'... silly game, apparently it's a high school setting where the various cliques are actually supernatural... with rivalries and teamups. Never took off"

Her head whips around at that title. "What? That's...um...how much?"

Maybe he's not so much looking at something as fixedly NOT looking at something.

Not looking at Sylvi?

"Eight dollars.. well, 7.99 but we both know a penny.."

"Ok, Lupine is how much? If Sylvi's getting Cheermonsters, I want werewolves..."

"Totally getting that." Sylvi nods and fishes out the eight dollars. She looks more determined to get the book than amused at the notion of playing it.

"Lupine is on sale because of a scratch there on the back. Instead of 15 it's 10."

Sales proceed.

"Sam, I can front you if you're out of mowing money."

He is certainly not looking at Sylvi.

"Um... I can do ten, yeah." She produces a precious crumpled bill.

Sam blushes furiously at something, a cloud threatening.

While Sam is doing her transaction, Sylvi goes over to Adam and whispers, "I know you can't talk to me, but show me where you found the book you got here."

Mr. Tully has plain brown bags that he offers to carry things in.

Adam shoves his hands in his pockets tensely and steps away from Sylvi when she approaches, but not fast enough to avoid hearing her. He does as bid, sidling over to a bin of VERY marked-down books and then away again.
