It's disorienting. He knows he talked to Fae..hell, he can still see them, that won't turn off but it's like some conversations were about.. sports maybe? No it was more than that.

But he makes his way home. In some ways he feels like there's a load off his shoulders. He.. got to talk. And wow he needed the sleep

He's a teenage guy, so naturally a lot of his dreams involve girls. Azure skinned Amazons.... one elf maiden cold as ice but no less alluring for it.... what's REALLY vexing is he's not sure is 'forgotten' and how much is 'made up'.

Adam's imagination could easily concoct some quality low grade smut with this material damn it.

On the flip side... he remembers.. kindness. Yes. Some of them are quite nice to him. Sam... she's cool.

No, he remembers the offer of a kis... Siv! It was before he was... she put something in his hand.

He searches his pockets.

He finds a coin. Double tailed quarter?

Odd.

He had a book about.. no that was just a game.

In his room, he searches....

It's gone. The book is gone. Fairy the whatevering is gone

.... and does not find it. He checks Lilly's room, elsewhere.

He does find one of his books near a make shift tea set, but it's not that one.

He takes it back anyways and searches his room again. Nothing.

He looks at his phone, reads back..... texts Sam. *bzzt* Hey. Can we talk? Questions....

He thinks ..maybe someone took the bok..'for his own good' (A phrase every teen loves).. whoever it was was an adult

Adam huffs indignant. Pretty sure mom and dad didn't even know about it.... Greely?

Something about..oh wait. WOrk. He called in sick

"Son?" It's his dad's voice

*bzzt* Confused. Hang on.

"Yeah dad?"

"I got a call from Mr. Greely. He hoped you were feeling well since you had to call out sick" His dad comes into view "This was news to me." A raised brow

Adam puts the phone down. "I know, dad, I'm sorry. I didn't want to bother you at work. I didn't sleep well, hardly at all, and my throat was dry and scratchy and my eyes ached and you always say people should bring a cold to the office...."

"But I called him to tell him and I slept a lot today and I feel better."

He looks dubious, "Son... if you really are sick, you need to let your mother or I know. it could be more serious than you realize. And... not saying you did, but if you're faking things....then you need to realize that the first part of any job is willingness to stick with it. "

"Yes sir." Seriously.

"I really am feeling better. "

"Okay" He says, still cautious, "Go back to your texting with whoever. I'm glad you're making friends"

"Yeah." A little uncertainly. "Me too."

And his dad heads off. Leaving him to his text with Sam

*bzzt* Looking for something. Book. Seen it?

bzzt: Chief has it for safekeeping

*bzzt* Chief? Cant remember some of yesterday.....

bzzt: Oh, you wouldn't, right.

bzzt: Chief is Siv's mom. Safe person.

*bzzt* Have to work this afternoon. You free now?

bzzt: At the Barn, remember where it is?

*bzzt* Barn?

bzzt: My house. It is Barn-shaped.

bzzt: address

*bzzt* Coming.

And shortly, there he is.

A beautiful voice comes from the house but it is not singing alone as the very birds in the trees, brightly colored, seem to have joined in

A smile blooms as he listens.
