Siv obeys and does so dutifully

Dagmar snaps the spikes, easily as toothpicks.

Siv has to work a bit harder, but yeah she can do it.

Each handful sprinkled into the pit seems to expand and swell, and gradually the pit becomes shallower and shallower. It takes several minutes of focused working, but in the end the soil is level and healed. No new plant life has started growing there yet, but that will come soon enough. "There."

The Chieftain brushes the dirt from her hands.

"..Cool."

"Nice" Siv says admiring "But I'm not surprised given what's shown tonight"

"Mm?"

"We should make sure there's no others. Oh, what if one of the WingWolves fell in?"

"The cubs aren't good fliers yet, they crash..."

A frown. "I hope not. We must check on them."

"Mum, it didn't say Adam and Eve.. .it gave a Norse reference... if that's not a sign that the land and the leader are one I don't know what is... you caused that" Proud, "The land knows you and your dreams flow through the soil"

Then a hint of a pleased look at Siv's comment, and a nod. "We have known each other a long time, now."

Siv's smile grows then she nods to Dagmar "AYe, let's go check for more pits "

"Of course it's Chief's." A grin, easy loyalty.

"Wait...Dagmar, you must go and find Klump, ask him what he knows. Siv and I will look for other pits. I may try to track the man, but it has been days, so I am not sure much will remain, given the recent rains."

She nods. "I'll hurry." And she's off!

Siv watches her go then says "SHe's turning into a heck of a troll"

Brekke does make a circuit of the area surrounding the pit, and she nods at Siv's comment. "She is, yes. She has found her nature."

Siv also looks.

Brekke's guess was right, time and recent rains have foiled much of what she's learn... still...

Something makes her look twice at a particular spot. Maybe....?

Ah bless this tree, it has between roots but under canopy protected a print, one that is not from any shoes she knows. Hunter boots, sized for an adult human man.

"Siv...come see." She points out the print. "This is the man."

Siv looks down, then pats the tree as if to thank it, "Looks like it went further in.. off the trail though. "

"CHIEF! YOU HAVE TO COME NOW!"

Siv whips around and draws her blade at the volume and tone.

"Mm." A nod. "Strange, here. Most mortals in this area, they stay to the path..." But then the call comes, and she doesn't stop or question it, she's off at a quick stride in the direction of Dagmar's voice. Long strides, but Siv can probably get there faster.

Siv does get ahead, mostly by taking to high logs for ramps and vaulting...

but not by much, for her mother knows these woods better than any and her log strides do not tire.

Dagmar pants. "Klump's hurt. His anchor's hurt."

And around, back from whence she came...

"Lead us." Brekke wastes no words, but follows.

Siv gives chase "You think by the same man?"

Huff "...Dunno..." RUNNING.

And there Klump lays , at least his husk, marred.

Brekke reserves comment, but she looks grim.

Dagmar stops, and goes to pick up Klump... if she can. Even with her strength, he's big...

"If he were human I'd swear he had malaria or worse" Siv says as she gets closer "No, more like an infected wound"

"Somebody defaced his anchor. It isn't far."

Brekke moves forward to help the glome up as well. "Klump...will you allow me to help you? I must know your anchor."

"frenz? yes... help" Klump seems to struggle to recognize them for a moment. Dagmar's might lifts and carries... barely.. it's the bulk as much as the weight... Once the Chief joins in, they have him.

And, it seems his approval.

It is a bit slower going, but Dag knows the way to his familiar rock... it's been her sanctuary in the woods for nearly a year.

Brekke nods for Siv to join them.

The large boulder is not new to the Chieftain, though she might not have known it was an anchor... it's a grand thing, rising up in the clearing...

And yet... the scar along it, as if someone has used it to sharpen metal, is new.

"Maybe if he's touching it?" A frown at the scar.

yes, someone sharpened an axe here.
