"Hmph." Brekke leans back in her chair. "Now...this is not simply about his parents and his memories. The concern is real and reasonable. You do drive recklessly, sometimes. So...out of concern for your father, but also as a matter of safety for those who inhabit Rivervale, whether in or out of your vehicle...I expect you to adhere to the rules of the road. Or there will be consequences."

"You know, I don't think it's very productive for me to get lectured twice for the same 'crime'. Just saying," A sigh "BUT... as I told father ,and then did, I will slow down. It's not like I drive on sidewalks. "

"If you remember now why it is such an important issue to your father, then I deem it productive. I appreciate that you are driving more slowly. I am not certain if that means that you are driving within the speed limit." That eyebrow arches again.

"I am keeping with the flow of traffic" she says, then "Honestly mom, you know as well as I do that some patches of road driving at the speed limit is a good way to get run over."

Brekke nods. "Keeping with the flow of traffic is acceptable, as long as that does not mean must-be-as-fast-as-the-fastest-driver-on-the-road."

"Either you're lead dog, or you hate the view!"

Then quickly "Kidding..kidding"

"Mmph." The joke seems to be falling flat with this audience.

"I'll try to recall, but I do hate losing some some folks" She admits

"Consequences," Brekke points out, "can occur naturally. You would not do well in a hospital, Siv." A grim tone.

"And we're back to my fragility again... " A frown, then a breath "Yes. I know I know. I get it. But with Gerd's friend, Jessica's situation, and a Liam hold likely to fall in willows and upseting Dagmar I think telling me to slow down is sufficient...and I have done so. There are times I feel like I'm being given no credit for compliance."

Dagmar tromps in from outside. (Full of tacos!)

A deep breath and a slow exhale. Eventually, she says, "Perhaps. It is hard to give that credit when you make jokes about winning against other drivers. But...thank you for your efforts. And for remembering."

She turns at the new arrival. "Dagmar. Hello." A nod.

A simple "Thank you" is given rather than add anything else to complicate.

Then she sees Dagmar and looks almost grateful, "Hey, Dagmar. Congrats on finding the dog's home"

"Chief!"

"And Siv!"

"Mm, yes. I am sorry I was not available when you brought the dog in. Tell me about that, Dagmar."

"Chief! I gotta report. It is about the dog..."

"Well, not the dog, more about where we found the dog..."

A grin as they overlap.

A nod for her to continue.

Siv gets up to refill her mom's coffee and get Dagmar her usual

Brekke was about to get up for the coffee, but gives Siv a grateful look as the girl takes her mug.

"Okay, so - the dog was caught in a trap, and it was one that was hidden. We found it cuz Gonzales fell in through the leaves covering it."

"The trap inside was nasty, all barbs and shit, and the dog was hurt real bad."

That gets a deep frown from the Chieftain. "Barbs? So, not simply a sinkhole. I know the dog is well...what of Gonzales?"

"Lupe? She's fine."

"Son of a bitch" Clearly listening Siv is, as she returns with the drinks and hands them over.

"She got MAD, but I sent May off to find Tove before she lost her top, and she didn't hulk out, either, once I pulled her from the hole."

"But, like, you know the guy that caught Snow? What if there are other traps like that?"

A nod at this. "She is learning control. This is good."

A deep breath, slow exhale, thinking. Then a nod. "You can show me this pit?"

"Any glamour about the pit that ye kenned?" SIv says

"I... oh, I didn't ken it." She frowns.

"...sorry..."

"Don't beat yourself up about it" Siv says "We wouldn't even know about if not for you, May and Lupita"

"As Siv says, do not apologize. But I would ask you to lead me to it, if you can."

"But I can show you it, yeah. Okay."

Siv is glad she hadn't removed her rapier.

"Mm." Brekke nods again, and she gulps down the coffee that Siv brought her (the woman must have an esophagus of steel) and rises.

"Siv, you will come with us, please. I wish you to see this as well."

"Was hoping to," Siv nods

"I was thinking, maybe, somebody could ask the trap who made it?"

"That is my thinking, yes." She is about to finish the last swallow in her mug when she pauses and looks at it, then goes to take a travel mug from the sideboard instead, pouring the remaining coffee into it. "Let us go."

"Sure. It was near the creek..."

Siv says "I think we should leave the dogs here. I don't want to risk one to another pit" She says this because the dogs are used to patrolling with them

"Agreed." And should the dogs attempt to join them, Brekke explains that they are to stay and guard.

"Oh... yeah, no. That'd be awful."
