The slightest grin and nod. "Just ropes."

"Don't let her fool you, it's an all day job, maybe more... going over every inch of rope, and mending ANY weakpoints."

"Oh...I have seen it done in a day..." Brekke sips her coffee. "But not often."

Siv says 'Tis tedious. I remember Pepper and I used to dice to see who'd get stuck with it."

"What's the catch?"

A brief frown, untrusting.

It doesn't seem to be much of a surprise.

"Then...you start tomorrow. We are done."

Jaymes nods, "Dagmar. One more thing...."

Her fingers dig into her upper arms, betraying tension not reflected in her voice. "Yeah?"

"However you got there, from what I can tell, you and Siv both behaved yourselves as politely as you knew how to, and comported yourselves honorably. You were surprise guests, but you were GOOD surprise guests. This reflected well not just on you, but the lodge. You represented Rivervale well in that. That I can tell"

Brekke nods. "With this I can agree."

Siv actually picks up a bit as her mom agrees

"Okay...." waiting for the shoe to drop.

It would appear there's no other shoe , Jaymes says "Then, like the Chief says, we're done"

Siv rises to go.

A confused look between the collection of Kings.

Siv mutters "When it looks like the shark pack has fed, ye don't hang around until they're hungry again. Let's go, Dags?" A suggestion

Brekke rises and drinks more coffee, pretending she didn't hear Siv's comment about sharks.

Frank says seated, but takes a sip of his own mug.

She shoots one last, nervous look at Jaymes before getting up to follow Sov.

"I must go to the Y this afternoon." A bit of a grin. "The wilderness trip is coming soon."

Frank's beard covers his smile.

A blink, and she looks around for the source.

It's Gerd, who has berry stuff on her face and looks a bit ill

"Oh dear."

"Gerd? What...is that? On your face?"

"I ate the food you left..." She says

"I ate SOME, and it was bad," Gerd starts to explain " but I thought no, it can't be that bad. So I ate some more, but no, it was that bad. But I thought, maybe if I ate more, it would get better as I got used to it. No..but by then I was committed and ..then I got sick"Blah

Jaymes's eyes widen

A blink. "Something Kerri made was bad? And you continued to eat it anyway?"

"It was mine," Jaymes says with a sigh. "I cooked it"

"Oh, that explains so much now!" Gerd says with relief, well quessy relief, "It's okay if a BOY'S cooking is horrible"

"You...ah."

A frown. "Enough of that, Gerd. Go upstairs and wash up, then lie down. i will be up with something to help soon."

Jaymes has a long suffering look, "Kerri was trying to teach me a reciepie... I let it cook too long. Gerd. I'm sorry."

"Jaymes, I am surprised. Here you are, welcomed to the Lodge, and you poison the inhabitants?" Deadpan.

Gerd nods "Oh no! Chief, I don't think he MEANT to poison me"

"He's just terrible is all!" Ready to protect Jaymes like a true troll
