Dagmar, for her part, refused to watch while Jaymes killed the fish... but she seems okay watching them cook. "I've never had trout."

"Are you kidding? I took eyes out for bait already"

"Rainbow trout is nice," He says "Though honestly what Kerri can do with it beats what we're about to have ...she takes it to 11"

"Kerri's a good cook."

Despite his words, yes, the eyeless fisheads are separate and waiting for certain sluagh

“The eyes are the best part.” He grins at Dagmar. “They POP.”

"Like grapes?" She laughs. "GROSS." It's said with amusement, however, not disgust.

He looks amused as well. “Ever had fermented squid?”

"Ewwww. No. Is it slimy? I wanna try it."

A blink. “You do?” Surprise. “Most people just want bulgogi, that’s the barbecue beef, and not the fun stuff.”

"mmm I like barbecue" Cooking sizzling make sure there's not too much char

"I like barbecue, too. But, yeah. You like it, right?"

Soon the first fish is done, followed by the second.

“Fermented silkworm larvae is good, too.” Poking at the nearest fish head with a fingertip, then sticking the finger in his mouth to cool the scorch.

Dag has laid out "plates" of oak leaves, and makes little 'hot hot' mutterings as she transfers fish to them.

"Doesn't anyone just 'ferment' barely anymore?"

“I could make dead body soup.” He remarks helpfully. “I’m no cook, but I can find a recipe.”

"You ever have one of those halloween parties where, like, it's all dark and then they make you touch food but say it's, like, guts and eyes and bones?"

She picks at the fish, pulling off chunks to eat with her bare hands. "Hot."

"Yeah, don't burn yourselves" he offers a head that was cooked differently for Symon "I don't know if this is ..ah your thing?"

“I don’t go to many parties. But it sounds like a normal dinner to me.” He accepts the head, giving it a curious sniff.

"M'fine!" She declares, mouth full.

Jaymes takes his own food "mmm not bad. Not bad at all"

"S'delicious" It doesn't take her long to finish hers, leaving a little pile of bones. She scoops up some water with her hands and takes a deep draught.

Plucking out the soft cheek meat, he tucks it into his own cheek, then sucks the fat from the head with a sluuuurp.

He pushes the body of his fish over towards Dagmar. “Trade you this bit for your head.” The tails, tossed to Lovecraft who crunches the little bones loudly.

"I think we were hungrier than we thought" he says finishing his own

"Totally." She is happy for that trade, and hungrily devours the second fish.

"Fishing is hungry work. Obviously." She licks her fingers. "Lovecraft seems to be happy."

“Sure she is. No work, all reward.”

"Just like a cat." Still, Lovecraft is offered some of Dag's scraps, too.

The second fishhead pocketed, possibly to age for later.

"And to think, I was worried we'd have to break out those granola bars"

A soft, happy sigh - well, soft for a trolless, so a bit like the heaving of a bellows.

"Ooo, do you have the chocolate chip ones?"

"Yeah, you want a dessert?"

“Remind me to bring some ice cream next time. Durian flavor.”

"WHat's a durian? And yes." A beat. "Please?"

"Surely" he gets his pack and pulls out one Chocolate chip Granola bar for her, "Symon, I knew you were Possible coming so in this bag I got a rice krispy treat from last week. You want?"

He grins widely. “Since you said please. Oh, it’s a fruit. And... sure.”

"Thanks!"

The granola bar is dispatched in a few bites. Apparently, 14 year olds don't eat so much as inhale...

"You're welcome," he smiles at Dagmar, then hands Symon his own treat, "I'm not sure what nature does to treats like that after a certain time . I think it's changing color"

“I’d have thought it would have too many preservatives to change.”

"Maybe it isn't changing and there's a fungus?"

“Maybe...” he sounds intrigued and plucks at the confection.

"Well, if you have to go the hospital I'm going to have to apologize to your folks"
