Colton mutters to Sylvi, "I wonder if salmon fights naturally aim for upstream?"

Sylvi laughs and swats his shoulder.

Laughter seems to be the norm, as any stoic dignity the Ironhawk can muster is somewhat dimmed by a fish in his hand.

...an increasingly slippery fish.

Kelly grins wide, "OH yes, I am way too cool to be enjoying this" And he enjoys it. Siv chucles.

"Ack!" Zane nearly loses his fish on his next swing and has to be reminded one hand must be on the chest at all times

Dag hugs her knees, watching.

"Go ahead, Jaymes, tell in he needs to work on his release" Olgar chimes

Jaymes might actually chuckle that, takes a breath like a zen master, "May I hit you with this fish?"

"You may try, but my Karate moves are too..." Zane starts to boast

SPLUT!

A resounding cheer!

The fish does not explode, but unfortunately, as fickle luck would have it, Zane's mouth was open just as the Fishhead swung forward....

....followed by gales of helpless laughter.

And while Zane is not hurt, he does fall back with a salmon partially in his mouth

The Wayburton parents cover their mouths so not to laugh TOO loudly at their son, Marsha even giving a worried, "Are you okay , baby?"

"We have a victor, and a King of the May!" Brekke steps forward to pull off Jaymes's blindfold and raises his non-fishy hand in the air.

"What happenend, did I win? Is the kid okay?" Jaymes says, still blindfolded

And then it comes off, "Oh geez. "

"HUZZAH!" Bellows Frank, and brings him a HORN of mead.

General applause all around, and Kerri goes to help Zane up and unblindfold him.

"All the teeth still in?" she asks.

Zane spits what is in his mouth out "Huh, you know, actually fish in my mouth isn't that bad... just surprised me."

Dagmar is laughing again, holding her sides.

"It will be even better warm, son" Professor Wayburton assures him.//Marsha ELBOWS her husband and puts on a smile

Kerri contains a chuckle and helps the boy up, shooting his father an I-heard-that! look.

The professor gives the very soul of academic innocence gaze.

Meanwhile, Jaymes is being crowned with a floral wreath propped above his horns. "May King, choose a partner for a dance, if you wish." Brekke announces, then she murmurs something quietly to him.

Jaymes listens, "Sure, maybe something to wipe my hands though?"

Jaymes is provided with a basin with soapy water and a towel...and so is Zane.

Zane does a lot more face scrubbing. Jaymes just his hands, but he looks about, "I'mnot much of a dancer."

She settles back into watching after the laughter runs its course.

"Tove, I know your'e normally the one playing the music, but if your father doesn't mind doing that while we a..." He stammers, "what I mean to say is... it's a tradition and there is no obligation to...."

Kerri nods approval and encouragement at Tove.

Olgar smirks, whispers to his wife, "Needs to work on his release too." Yup. Olgar is definitely repaying a debt and feeliing Seelie.

Tove smiles, turns to her father, "If you don't mind father?"//"I approve... of the dance," Torrad says causing her to roll her eyes// Some soft laughter at that/// and Tove moves up to Jaymes as the music starts, swishes her long dress and starts to dance.

Brekke hands Jaymes another wreath to crown his choice of May Queen...and within the chest there are also "royal robes"...more like stoles in the bright green of new grass and with flower patterns adorning them.

Kerri and Brekke make sure they are wearing the stoles, then each returns to her own husband to watch.

"Go Tove!" She calls out, then purples and ducks her head.

The May Monarchs are the only dancers at first, and all watch, but as the music continues, others join in as well....

Jaymes did, of course, put the crown on her, awkwardly, and looked reaedy to pat it on her head but she put it herself before he could. Then the dancing began. Tove knows what's she's doing, Jaymes? Well, this is where he lives and he ain't moving out of that box. Fortunately the May queen is good enoough to salvage this.

Frank offers Brekke his hand, an invitation, when the time is right.

Sally Mae, saunters past Lut and Tig, "Guess I'm losing my appeal, thought he might have picked me. My ego is crushed" Eye lash flutter to the strapping young men.

Brekke grins and takes Frank's hand, blushing just slightly, and she lets him draw her into the dance.

Colton nudges Sylvi, "Would you like to? "

They dance close.

Sylvi nods at him and takes his hand. "Even if it is kinda old-people dancing."

Dagmar creeps back, finding an out of the way place to watch all the couples form up and dance.

Only to nearly run into Zane, "Hey, would you like to Dance?" Zane offers Dagmar, "Honest, I got most of the fish smell off."

She tenses and shakes her head. "I don't dance."
