Brow. "I don't like this guy."

The trees look strong for the most part, but every now and then, one looks warped, bent wrong as if its growth was messed with

Symon nods slightly and sticks closer to Dagmar.

And there about six feet from the edge of the trod, lays a badly wounded chimerical squirrel on the forest floor. Other squirrels in the trees look down on it as if in sorrow

Symon's lips press together grimly, and he will move on, assuming Dagmar does not pause.

Dagmar does, frowning.

One of their party has given into temptation... Qetz has tried to STRETCH to reach the easy prey... he's not long enough... and is about to go over and off the silver by a tail tip and completely onto the forest floor. There is almost no time to stop him

Dag is quick, and she reaches to snag the snake.

(Wits plus brawl or Athletics to YOINK)

Quetz gives a startled hiss as he's caught just in time before he leaves the safety of the trod... that is not the only response...

the 'wounded' squirrel stands up, healthier than it seems, and bares its fangs. Yes, FANGS. And the other squirrels bare theirs too. They had hoped to feast and gorge themselves upon the snake in mass. It would have been a fight, but their swarm would have likely won, and then they'd eat their own dead AND the snake

But Dagmar's quick response has foiled them of their meal!

Chattering fanged rage in the trees

"Sometimes, I swear." She sighs.

A huff. "Bleeding hearts lead to bleeding hands out here."

But, gently said.

"And hungry stomachs may end up within one." to Qetz, gravely.

Qetz squrims anew, this time in embarrassment

"And that's why you're the smart one."

"Keep my soft heart out of trouble."

"So you didn't fall prey to, wolf fanged bush tails, how selfish are you, when their empty stomach wails? True they would have shredded you, and very likely deaded you.. haha!" 🎼

Qetz isn't allowed many expressions but manages a hiss.

The incline has faded almost entirely, they are clearly on a great forested plateu

"Seriously, could punch that guy."

"Not a music lover, what a dishonor. Your whore of a mom sings, and scares all the fauna. You're a bastard brat, of junkie descent... I double dog dare you, to come at me, Bint!" 🎼 And then almost as an after thought "Ha Ha"

Symon stiffens and rests a hand on Dagmar's arm!

Dagmar growls, tensed head to toe.

He is digging through his bag... and then pulls it out, he found it! A pair of... lamentably pink earmuffs, made to be sound dampening. These he offers up to Dagmar.

"All I heard was a fart, and we know from whence those arise."

It is hard, powerful hard, to not want to go in and give that son of a bitch a thrashing off the Silver!

But Dagmar HAS grown, and is not the angry child she was. And further, in the Dreaming she IS a proud Gwydion and Troll and will not be used so cavalierly

She tries to reach, but her hands can't seem on unclench. She does manage to drop to one knee, and gives Symon a pleading/grateful look.

More insults start to flow...

He puts them over her ears.

And then are silenced

At least to Dagmar

Then, his back straight, he takes point. He does not block them out. Oh, he listens. A silent tally being made, for reckoning.

She closes her eyes for a second. Tapping a hand to her lips and dropping it away in clumsy ASL.

He takes the hand and presses it to his own lips, stealing from her the touch.

Every sleight made, every insult given with a musical 'haha' noted, and accounted for. It seems Qetz keeps tab too

Thus fortified, she's able to continue.
