A small sigh as they leave the mirk and clinging fog behind.

A deep breath and a smile as they lave the mirk behind!

Together, they fight crime!

Indeed, they've gone from San Fran meets London both at Peak fog to... territory that looks almost obnoxiously shire like, sunny, pastorial... so darn happy.. Autumn season wise, barely touches it

Alas - there is still a goodly shadow to hide within, and in Dagmar's shade he remains.

She lives to serve

Honestly, trolls are so handy for shadow casting, it it explains why so many sluagh find them tolerable

The Silver windss and spreads here, not broken, but more like the safety has been extended. There are side paths hither and yon, and there is a SIGN someone has put up. Whether it is to be believed or not is a different matter. In typical Dreaming fashion, its directions are vague

Snort, amused at the last.

A quiver of amusement that Dagmar feels by her side and through the hand that is lightly splayed across her lower back.

There are also, in their immediate area, a few houses. Yes many look a bit like Hobbit holes

"In a hole, in the ground, there lived a Hobbit." Symon whispers idly.

"Well, the Shire would have to be somewhere in the Dreaming. Do the notes indicate where we should go?"

He pores over the notes once more, carefully.

Klump had described a great glen as the home of the stone

He scans the area. Looking for any hobbit hole, or other area, that might deserve to be called 'Great'

One 'Hobbit Hole' does have a fancier larger door than the others and can be knocked on from the Silver if he wishes

Symon pauses, and backtracks a step. Re-reading the sign.

A skinny finger taps at "Ye Path of the West".

Raised brow to Dagmar?

An easy shrug. "Sure."

Could it be that simple? MAYBE! On the path to the west - onwards!

"I figure if we do find it, we can place it near Klump. He'd be a good guardian, on top of the Lodge."

"Takes one to know one." Whether he means a rock to know a rock, or a guardian to know another... or perhaps both?

And so, our brave heroes avoided going to Ohio! Whew.

Moving 'Westish' they make their way and notice that the trod IS a pretty steep incline.

Symon strides up the path - his legs burn a bit, but... his breath doesn't catch in his throat (at least not more so than any exertion for a sluagh who seldom exercises.

A smile back at Dagmar, at the novelty of it.

She grins. "Probably still not interested in hiking as a hobby, huh?"

Indeed, Symon has never had an easier time with this

He grins up at her. Perhaps. With the right company.

Her eyes sparkle, and cheeks are lilac. "Okay."

The two move up and up, but even as it goes up, the areas to the side become more forested, still in the more idealistic way... just the trees appear to be a bit diagonal due to the incline

On occasion, she offers Symon a hand up, or she needs to place a hand on the ground to give herself leverage as they climb.

Likewise, he keeps an eye on the ground, watching for any loose rocks or suspicious footing.

THe two make their way up and up and at last the incline gets less severe, less harsh, but in resposne the woods are looking less sunny

and a voice calls out

Singing?

"If it's Tom Bombadil, I'm turning back." Symon whispers.

"Oh where are you going, with muscles all blue now, and teethless black lips not wheezing? Oh what a duo...hah ha!" 🎵 Oh dear Dreaming, Symon wasn't far off "Your questing is brewing, you think you're not in danger, but this is the dreaming, it could get even stranger... and there are tests you might fail, hahah!" 🎼

Symon rolls his eyes, grits his... gums, and continues on!

"...Huh."

"Your will will be tested, by trial and temptation. Or maybe it will bore you, HELLO frustration, and even if you win, death will have reason to grin... haha!" 🎵 Definitely meaner than the elves in the book whoever this is singing
