At the tap in return... suddenly an owl RIPS the roof off, and grabs August.

1122 races down the talon and clambers onto August looking Dapper and heroic!

So THAT'S where the owl was!

"Wait, my carriage's alarm went off. I KNEW you wwere lying... SO LONG BARON!"

August clings to the Owl.

"I don't lie!" he protest "My offers were made in good faith!"

The Owl lifts him up... even as 1122 taps out -S-I-D-H-E F-X T-I-M-E!

The carriage explodes, probably an effort to kill August Chimerically after all, but it is too late... for August is a sidhe, and as he is carried away by a giant multi colored owl, the mecho spider by his side, the explosion only serves as a back frame to make him look AWESOME! Sidhe always, ALWAYS look good!

And escapes are included in that!

August redoubles his grip on the Owl, since the chances of going back to the carriage just became nil.

It does seem unlikely according to the data available !

He's missing his sword, his keys, and his cellphone, but he's alive and on his way back to Toronto.

On the whole, it could be worse; he could be on the way to a hospital in Toronot.

1122 taps a quick message to him ''To Dukes, or back to lair?'

"The Duke. We need to find out if Ruzgala made it back."

They fly that way...as fast as they can.

August clings like a tight clinging thing.

The owl does lower down and let him onto the ground so he can mount properly. Turns out 1122 speaks Owl. Or so he claims

Soon August is in a more comfortable position and flying even faster!

He hasn't much experience (that he recalls) riding an airborne mount but he's ridden enough horses to know approximately how to sit and not be a bother to the mount.

It appears to work. He looks GLORIOUS!

As they gain on their city, August beholds glamour at work... the city is in chaos! Chimera running wild, Golems stomping thanes... it is flat out war!

Weaponless except for an Owl and a clockwork spider (however heroic), August says "To the Duke!"

They see the Duke on the battlements of his castle. He calls out, magic carrying forward his words "Hold the line, make sure the non combatants get to safety!"

"Your Grace!" August calls as they approach "News!"

"Baron August Truthbranch, I presume!" He calls out to him in a non magicked voice "You wanted an AUdiance with me I am told. This might be overkill on your part, Baron!"

"This is not my doing, Your Grace!" August says with, relatively-speaking, good nature "How can I help?"

"Your Eshu ally came here with a boggan witness who knew little, but enough to verify. She's gone back into the labrnth with a treasure meant to whisk many to safety. Go with her if you would prove yourself as not the creator of this chaos. We are wall to wall ravenous chimera and golems here!"

August does J-not- like this plan, but he is obedient and does as commanded. "As you will, Your Grace!" and to the Owl and 1122 he says "Back to the labrinth."

"You will not go alone" The Duke says "Thane! Follow"

Teegan leaps off the building, and flies after the owl, some sort of spell cast by another allowing the troll to follow the ow.

"Thane!" August greets him as they fly.

"I am sorry, I TOLD the Duke I believed the librarian was innocent..." He says "But for now, my life and blade is all I can offer you"

A beat "Speaking of which? Where is yours?"
