"It worked," Cajun Southern yell from the main room beyond the bathroom door

"Now, about them there horses" he says "Let's see the pictures"

"Oh yeah!" She lays them out - some of Star and Storm individually, others capturing both together. "I think in this one, Star was checking to see if Stormwake had gotten one of Jack's sugar cubes..."

He looks them over "Okay. I know jack about horses, but they look nice... and heh...did she find any?"

"She usually does. Star's a brat." With affection.

"Star's your horse right?" He ask

"Yeah, sort of."

"I mean, Chief said she's mine, but Chief stables and feeds her."

"But she's... mine, too. Dunno. It's complicated."

"Still yours then" he says "just because someone owns the workshop doesn't mean they own the things made in it, or the tools."

"Well. Complicated, but yeah."

"I take care of her, though."

"You sound proud, I don't always understand folks and pets... I made mine"

"Well, with an animal... you have to get them to trust you, and learn how to talk to them. Figure out how they communicate, too - like, it's a different language than people."

"But it's great, when you figure it out. You don't need magic to talk to them, not really... though man, I envy the Aesin that one."

"Aesin are kind of jerks, least ones I heard tell of, but I suppose being able to snow white the forest critters is handy." He nods

"Exactly. I've not met any, personally..."

"See, sometimes I like machines because they make sense. People get all their feelings bundled up and you step wrong and you hurt em, or they hurt you..if a machine hurts me, nothing personal and I can take a wrench to it and feel no shame"

A sound of giggling, and rummaging, and... stairs! Sounds like someone is taking the back staircase up to the rooms.

And may find frustration as doors don't open

"Sec" The Nocker sighs, goes to the gloves "Keys for whoever up there." Keys are handed to him, and he throws them UP the stairs "HERE! Room 6"

Piper is halfway down the stairs, and blinks it surprise, catching them! "Uh, thanks!" A pause to glance around the main room, and she brightens and waves to Dagmar! "Oh, hi! Are you on a date, too?"

A blush on the nocker at that

"Oh, sorry!" A sheepish grin. "Not that there's anything wrong with that! I just heard that this place is no-TOR-I-us for hookups! Oh, who's your friend?"

"Uhm yeah I'm Bertrand.. are you..Etsie?"

"Hey, come back to OH......" A shirtless Adam freezes on the stairs.

"Etsie? Sheesh! My hair is light, but not GREY." A grin. "Nah, Etsie's cool and all, but she's like, ancient. Why do you ask? Oh, sorry, I'm Piper. River Vale-adjacent, I suppose you'd say."

"Oh... you got a Kinain with you" Realization "That's not against the rules as long as you vouch for him" he says to PIper "And uh, nice to meet you, Piper"

Her brow furrows a bit. "Vouch for him? I mean, yeah, of course, but that's kinda... draconian."

"Not my rules, it's the hold rules" He gestures to the sign "We had one Kinain come in and dfrew will worker attention."

"Will... like.. wizards, right?"

"You have wizards here?"

"not hERE no... and they intend to keep it that way" He says "But in the city...sure."

She clips a few steps further down, squinting to check out the rules. A frown. "No... Gift of Pan? What the eff. Who enforces this BS?" She looks indignant.

"Uh....." Adam comes downstairs slowly. "Hey"

Dagmar bites on her lip. "Um. Hey."

"Hey. Uh. I can go put on a shirt." He offers.

Bert says "Look... far as I know, the main enforcer is the big ass spider over the bale, but that might be more to keep folks off the rafters." he sounds

a bit snorty as if it's not his job to play tour guide here. "If the rules are too strict for you there maybe other holds"

"Spider?!" She clips back up, backing right into Adam. "Oh, sorry! Just... did you say giant spider?"

An undertone to Adam, "I didn't know there would be spiders...."

"S'ok." He wraps an arm around Piper. "I got you."

"A giant one... tear your furking head off.." he does not appear to be joking or lying "I also have a glass panther what protects the place but that's mmore against reavers."
