"Thought you'd been here before... or was that a flicker flash" Bert scratches his head. He has, sadly, abandoned his redbaseball hat. Too many folks thought it was political.

"More like a flicker flush. Who puts a trod in a toilet?"

"Hey, don't sneer too much, the system is one possible explanation for the trod draw, some theorize that whatever nocker anchored the toilet to this place ended up creating a resonance that added the world famous cross roads that Firnost is today... ye say, it's a magnification of the recurve of the silver allure"

"Yeah?" He says . He's got a drink in his hand.

"I'm glad you're here, you're who I was looking for."

"Yeah? What's this about anyway?" Bertand asks "Not that i mind..stupid virus means I can't talk to my non fae friends" A sigh

"Yeah, my friend May, she's going stir crazy - at least I can get to the lodge and stuff."

"So, like, Mire came by yesterday? With a camera?"

"Oh! yeah, the lens working okay? Glass is my speciality, it SHOULD catch full chimerospectric effect "

"It's amazing! Totally!"

"I got a bunch of pictures of the horses, and some of these chimerical flowers... well, 13 pictures, exactly, so it's resting now..."

"Yeah, you gotta be careful not to keep clicking when it tells you it's done" The Nocker says "Glad you like it. I furking had to get help on the mechanisms within but none of them were drek peddlers so I figured it would come out all right." A pause "You used it to take pictures of horses and flowers?"

"Well, it just.. appeared... and, like, FAE horses and chimerical flowers..."

"I..I wasn't supposed to?"

"oh, right, well, you can't record that stuff without it so I guess it makes sense," He scratches his chin "And you know, girls. Look, I don't GET Horses and flowers, but you probably don't like everything I get either so... furk what others say if it's what you like" A nod "Just glad it worked. " A pause "wait... if it works great, and you're taking pictures of what you like, why are you here to talk to me?"

"Well, I wanted to thank you and tell you it worked great... and also, like, well... ask why?"

"I mean, that camera's a lot of work."

"oh," He puffs up proud "Yeah, I really nailed it," When the quesiton why he said "Well, I got paid to. I mean, I gotta eat and dream right?"

"Sure! Who commissioned it?"

"Oh!" he says Realization "Sorry someone paid for anonymity"

"That someone wouldn't be a Varich?"

He rolls his eyes "Anonymity means whoever don't want their identity known whoever he or she is"

"I know. Just..."

"Just it doesn't make sense..."

"What do you mean?"

He says "You like it, right? you said so"

"I just don't get why somebody would wanna give me such a nice gift in secret?"

"Maybe because trolls can be lunkheads and try to do 'noble stuff ' like 'no no ,I can't, it would not be honorable' or 'this is much to expensive' or "I will repay this blah blah'. " He says now and then deepening his voice for the 'troll' parts

"Well, like... I wanna do the right thing?"

"So ....it's a gift. the right thing with a gift is to enjoy it and if you can't say thanks to whoever, you just let folks know you like it. So if whoever did give it hears you they know how grateful you furking are. I'm a nocker, we suck at social stuff and even I know that"

"I guess..." SHe looks uncertain.

"Look. for nockers, a contract is a contract is a contract.. but I promise it's not boobytrapped or nothing"

"Sure."

"But, like, you get it?"

"you're curious" he shrugs "Folks do get curious"

She nods.

"So, why don't you just ask folks at your lodge 'do you know who is behind getting me this great awesome camera with the lens done by a genius?'" He says

"Well... dunno. I saw your mark, so I thought... " A shrug.

"Oh, I know who probably set it up, but...contract"
