A sigh. "It's not like that, exactly. I mean, maybe some holders try that, but I bet that would backfire worse, especially in this hold." She pauses. "Dagmar, you might need to whisper it after all. You..." She cuts off, seeing the bird perching on the halberd.

BLINK.

"Oh."

"Me? Whisper a balefire?"

"Oh, I'm an idiot," Sylvi says with a smile.

"I was going to have you try that, yeah, but...well, somebody clearly wants to have a word with us!" She indicates the bird.

"Can you Whisper the Goldfinch?"

Blink. "The bird?" Then she ponders, and frowns at some inner thought.

Siv keeps rubbing her eyes grumbling

The bird fluffs up

with interest

"Um. Chimera, I can whisper Chimera..."

Brow furrow. "What should I ask?"

Sylvi glances at Piper, then back to Dagmar. "I guess the best thing would be to ask who did Piper have sex with on Beltane this year?"

Piper eyes the bird with discomfort.

"Why would it know that? Is it watching...everything that goes on here?"

Purple, but she nods.

Siv says "it's not a butterfly warden, honey." She's assuring "No one is judging you"

"I mean, good to find out, but... well. It makes me uncomfortable, and me, generally not really a private person."

"What... what if I ask who the troll in the poet shirt was?"

At that, the bird looks almost apologetic

"Is that better?"

"It's not a surveillance camera, Piper...but it keeps an eye on things. It would let me know if some emergency were happening, for example."

"That might be good, yeah."

"And whoever is hooking up at Goldfinch, it watches that too?"

"Think of it like a watch dog at the lodge?" Siv says "LIke Oak?"

The bird plays Hound Dog by Elvis, well, it tweets it

"Good comparison," Sylvi nods to Siv.

"Didn't really know that was emergency material. And if Oak watched bedroom activity - well, not like we were hooking up at the Lodge, not with your parents around, but if we were? I'd find that WEIRD."

"I didn't say it was emergency material, Piper. You're freaking out a little. I don't know if the bird will know, but the bird might have seen. That's all I'm saying."

"And yeah, " Siv says to Dagmar "Ask what trolls were wearing poet shirts sounds like a good one. Besides me"

A grateful glance at Dagmar for that.

She chews on her thumb again, watching the bird before "Little bird, little bird, share with me some little words."

The bird does not protest this, and glows with the cantrip, singing merrily and ready for three questions!

"Uh. Hi. Could you please tell us the identity of the troll wearing the poet's shirt on Beltaine?"

"Yes, yes I could" It says excitedly at the whispered question "The cantrip allows me to do that. It's so nice to be understood really"

One question down and it waits for the next

Sylvi winces. "Careful."

Siv gives Sylvi a LOOK at this

"You might have to just ask outright."

Dagmar bristles, frowning.

Sylvi replies to Siv's look with a shrug and a gesture at the bird. "I'm not telling it what to say!"

A long, thoughtful pause. "Please, list for me all the male fae and kinain who were here, at Goldfinch, on Beltaine."

Sylvi's brow furrows.

It looks confused.

"That's not a question," Sylvi says quietly.
