The return to Goldfinch is the stuff of legends!

"Okay, that pride parade was long." Siv observes "Good on them mind ye"

A bit of a wistful look, she'd have liked to join in.

Dagmar is waiting for them. Outside.

She's been passing Flyswatter hand-to-hand, whiling the time.

"Expecting a battle?" She says to Dagmar with a small smile.

"Hey, Dagmar," Sylvi says, her grin a bit tense due to the situation.

"C'mon, let's go talk." She leads the way in.

The bird greets them happily

"Hey. Sorry."

She slings the halberd across her back and follows.

Piper 's hand is taken as Siv walks in with her "Let's see how this goes"

If there's anybody still hanging out from before, Sylvi runs interference so Piper can get down to the freehold area without being mobbed by well-intentioned fae.

Nope! No one else here. The guys fled when cleaning was mentioned

though they did clean

The window bird flutters after them, nosey as ever. It does see all hold businesss as ITs Biz

Smart of them.

Sylvi gives the bird a grin and joins everybody downstairs.

She goes over to the old-fashioned spotlight where the balefire resides and opens the flanges so the green light within can be seen more clearly. "Hey, you..." she greets it.

Piper stays a few paces back. She admires the balefire as the fount of glamour it is, but more of a distant admiration than the up close and personal that Sylvi gives it.

It greets her, feeling triumphant in this month of pride

Dagmar hangs back near the stairs.

Siv stays near Piper but says "It's a pretty little fire"

The fire puffs at that 'little' comment

That waves of pride makes her smile, but then she grows more serious. "I'm going to ask, now. Kind of...think at it. It's hard to explain..."

Without trying to explain further, she exhales slowly and closes her eyes.

Dag chews on a hangnail.

Piper does her best not to fidget, but her hooves do make a soft click/clack, click clack as she shifts her weight nervously.

Sylvi's brow furrows, her eyes still closed.

The bird settles on the shoulder of Piper as if trying to calm her

She jumps and squeaks!

"Sorry, sorry. Still not that cool with chimera fluttering around me, like. Bad memory." She apologizes to the bird with a bit of an awkward finger wiggle wave. "I like you, I do, but like, from... over here." Then she hushes guiltily, worried she might have distracted Sylvi.

The bird flutters over to Dagmar, nestling on Flyswatter as a perch!

Brow. ("Hi?")

It trills a happy hello

Sylvi shakes her head, frowning.

She peers at Sylvi. "Anything?" She whispers.

The fire bursts and blinds for a moment

Sylvi gasps and sits down hard on her butt!

"Gah!"

Piper scrambles a few hoofbeats back, hand up to cover her eyes!

"What did you DO? Throw lighter fluid on the thing?"

Dagmar, despite the exclamation, doesn't move.

"I can't see!" Siv groans

"First of all...ow." A confused and slightly resentful look at the balefire. "Not sure what I did."

"I was looking right at it" Siv grumbles rubbing

"Wow, I dcalled it little ONCE and it gets mean" She adds

FOrtunately Siv is the only one even temporarily blinded

Sylvi gets to her feet. "I don't get it. It was like...being shoved away, but not mean, somehow."

"But - you're the holder. It's YOUR fire. Can't you like, tell it what to tell you?" Piper asks, naively, or obliviously?
