August, recently a Baron and boyishly handsome as always, ambles across the lawn with his nose in a book.

That's when someone says "Squire, no!"

and August nearly ttrips over a beagle

He pulls up at the last minute. "Woah!"

ANother beagle shoots past, both after the same tennis ball

"Sorry, Baron! " Siv says "Ah, beagles." Sheepish "We were just excercising the dogs"

"...Hi..."

"I .... see." He nods respectfully. "Captain. Please convey my greetings and fraternal respect to your father?"

Another nod. "Hello.... Dame...?" A gentle but kind smile.

"I shall, Baron." Siv says "And this is Dame Dagmar ap Gwydion. Of Rivervale as well, and a cousin to me as well as dear friend."

"Dame, yeah. Um. Dagmar." She sticks out a broad blue hand.

August shakes it. "Dame Dagmar. An honor to meet you."

"Likewise!"

"We just got a Truthbranch!"

"Sir Carawyn. An unforseen blessing, yes."

"He's a proper gent, he is," Siv assures.

"I would expect him to be, yes."

The kinian comes out of the kennel area looking dejected. On the end of a leash is a French Bulldog of dark brindle ). The kinian himself is a mutt, a mix of troll and Piskie (And best not to dwell), the Fae Frenchie? Well, seems quite pure blooded save for the odd Chimerical bat wings.

August blinks, unsure.

Siv says "oh forgive me... " And goes to check on something, indeed, she goes to talk to the kinian, leaving the Baron and Dagmar to talk

August clears his throat.

"Yes, sir?"

"Sorry, I am sometimes split between locations and..... miss things."

He looks to Dagmar. "Will you be with us long?"

"Just visiting. Siv was showing me around. So many animals here!" Oh, that was a declaration of pure joy, there,

A small smile. "The Baroness's influence."

"Yeah? Sive said she rode."

"Captain..... Oh, I see. Yes, the Baroness is an accomplished rider." Some pride there.

"Samson's a fine horse. Do you ride?"

"I can." He agrees.

"But not your thing?"

"I can keep my seat. I have to, all things given. It is not my forte."

"Right. So - what is your thing?"

"My... thing?" Delightfully unsure.

"Right. What you do?"

"Like - Siv likes boats, and Gerd is a goth now, and I hit things and ride horses."

"Oh. Well.... I love to read, and learn. I'm studying pre-law, mortal and Fae."

"Man, that sounds.. hard. Bet you're smart."

"I try. I'm not the smartest person I know, by a long shot."

"Well, still smart. Gotta be, for all that."

"I try." A smile. "You are in high school?"

"Uh-huh. Sophomore."

A smile. "That can be a good year. You're not newest.... but not oldest, either. Freedom."
