The carefully created diplomas are set aside for the professor to deliver.

August's excellent work transcribing each one is something to behold, not that anyone here can see it yet. Candles handed out and lit.

Jacob takes one "cool. Can we set fire to a wickerman later?" he whispers to his mom.

"No, don't be a pisher." She responds.

"awww" But he quiets and holds.

After a moment. "Ok, so maybe at home we set up a wickerman."

A soundless 'yes' on the boy's lips.

A bitter curl to the old(ish) nocker's lips, not at ALL amused or pleased.....

The boy behaves.

"...and I'm hoping that, after the ceremony, I get a chance to hear about each and every one of your graduates, those I already know, and those who are less familiar to me. They have achieved great things, and we should all be inspired by their Dreams."

Zara resets her hat on her head and paces. Thank hecate for a good middle-of-the-alphabet surname.

"And so...Mister DeBuke?" She looks to the older troll. "Are we prepared?"

A large figure approaches the stage, rounded shades, flowing robes with many runes as the professor takes a position on stage and says "The graduates have been found worthy of receiving their diplomas and academic recognition" he nods

"Then please begin." She relinquishes the stage and moves to take a seat with August, smiling gently at him.

The Troubadours begin playing classical music used for the graduation march. Stevi and Gideon play it dignfiied, and straight, despite Shalimar's earlier attempt to slip them a twenty to turn it into the imperial march, but that's another story.

Zara's slender fingers knot into a nervous tangle. There's a crowd. Six of them. Not just her.

The PRofessor does a simple working and suddenly his voice carries,, not loud, but as he were speaking at acceptable volume from four different corners.

"With a high school online degree and first aid training, Abby Bench." He declares.

Coradel claps, not too loudly.

And out of the waiting area goes the stork pooka, her bright eyes catching the reflected light of the candles folks are carrying.

Someone gives her a gentle encouragement and she walks up first...

"This is almost as good as my World of Warcraft cooking achievements" Her father, a vulture pooka nods proudly as he and his wife clap for their daughter. The wife is mortal and enchanted.

Abby walks up, Professor DeBuke shakes her hand and says "Congratulations, and good luck in your future endeavors"

Fret fret fret... sneak a look at the Himmelfarb-Schwartz-Kohen row...

"Tee time is at 6" she says solemnly and moves on.

Coradel smiles happily...this was a wonderful idea!

He reads the next "Artwood Benjamin Calvert, Online Courses at Darlnel Night classes-- Extra honors in Kithain lore studies" the Kinain comes out eyes on the prize and doesn't stop until he gets his hand on that diploma

Only then , when his hand is shaked and the ohter had the paper, does he look over at his confused muddled mixed up family with multiple other kinian of various sorts and an Eshu Uncle who showed up JUST in time.

And he beams!

"Ooooh." More clapping. Coradel is making note of the new talent that is being brought to her attention.

"Danique Fordstone, Online Courses at Gryphon High School Program....graduated with honors..."

The female troll with large glasses comes out... there is no family for her. With stoic dignity, she approaches, jaw set, resolute.

From the shadows, Zara claps!

Coradel applauds again, and glances next to her to make sure others do as well.

"Extra commendation for civic and civil health care service" He adds. Then he shakes her hand, hands her the diploma, and mutters something . Whatever he said, it almost makes the girl's mask crack a bit, but she nods and says thank you and moveso n.

Others definitely do.

Once the giant moves on the next name comes out "Epidurala Hoopcraken... Flotsam and Krank's online Technical school..."

A quiet smile for the nocker. Zara's fond of the kith.

"Furk furk furk" Epidurala seems to be risking a wardrobe malfunction, then kicks her heels... and is launched onto newly formed skates to roll by Emmit, grab her diploma... and there's a crash sound on the other side.

The surprised professor looks at his empty hand, glances over to the concealed side and then nods then tells the crowd "She's okay."

"Course she is, she's a Hoopcracken!" Yells an old nocker woman

A stunned moment, but then Coradel applauds enthusiastically.

"Reap Rooter, online School program at Humbug High accreditation, Honors in languages and achiever of the 'oh god ooh god, why are the dolls spewing latin while their eyes glow?' prize in the Friday the 13th Spooktillilan which I am told is very important"

Reap muters "Well, it is" in a whisper only Zara hears

A soft chuff and a little bow of recognition to her kithmate.
